|
 |
I've been noticing this a bit lately. Seems like on some blurays ( latest offender being the great wall) some dark scenes can have slightly weird hues/bit too oversaturated faces etc while playing them on my tv. Figured hey .. might be the tv player/processing but then did the same on my pc+ monitor and noticed the same issues.
However checking yt trailers containing same scenes show proper colors with no weird hues/oversaturation).
So what gives? The 40gb to 10gb bluray rip compression messes up colors? Thought only clarity was lost in most cases and maybe some blocking, but colors too?
Thanks.

^ kk650 regrades films to his liking, not to correct any mistake with them. Well, ok, there are a few exceptions, but for the majority of the films he has regraded, there's no mistake/error, it's just the personal preference of the director. The OP seems to have downloaded some bad rips or something.

Yeah well, i'm mostly downloading the rips mentioned here as rls. Some are great, others not so much and like i said compared to their trailers it's clear something went wrong with the compression unless the source file was just as bad.

Movie is indeed the mode you want, warm1 or 2 setting, no dc, smart led high etc. Unless you're used to having every setting on for max torch mode and blueish whites.
Then again it's your screen so set it up how you want.
That's not the problem here though since some blurays look great just like their trailers, while others don't..
