|
 |
Hotfile became fucking shit and although I have an account there until december, I want to switch to some reliable host.
The first filehoster I paid for was Rapidshare -> Very fast and you could find ANYTHING there.
Then people started to rat out the links of other uploaders and finally rapidshare itself deleted shit and practically fucked the uploaders.
Now it seems that people start to upload there again...
Other option would be filesonic and fileserve. Anybody using one of them? How are the speeds, traffic limits and things you like and dislike
In before Usenet -> That shit is VERY cool and VERY fast, but only usable for very new stuff and I love downloading rare stuff

RS is good. I'm using rs too.
I tried Hotfile and Fileserve but Hotfile was kinda expensive and ohhh boy... don't even try to get an Fileserve account. Fileserve is fuckin slow sometimes ...
/edit: and you have unlimited traffic @ RS

Filesonic is very good, but it isn't as widespread as RS. Depending on what you're looking for, FS might miss files. RS is teh best choice imo, but it does get a lot of flak these last months so files are deleted very fast if you're unlucky.

Works fine with JDownloader too.

RS implemented new policy (they need to keep ppl in after that fiasco with rapidpoints and all) that they won't delete your files even after you loose premium account ^^ That's cool, because I have quite a lot of stuff there
So RS ftw, and there are lot of ppl uploading to RS so you can always find what you want

What really surprised me after the last months of hotfile usage was, that less than 97% of the links were dead/abused! O_O
With hotfile you were lucky to find the movie you want in 180x120 3gp chinese...

fuck rapidshare. didnt they fuck over their customers a short while ago? they've come out with a new set of promises because they realised they were losing a lot of customers, but their promises will be short lived.
id vote fileserve - theyre better by far.
but nah rapidshare isnt a company id put any trust in... they promised everything just long enough for them to get their success, before yanking it away.
would NEVER both with hotfile though.

One thing nothing but usenet achieves are the speeds that you can reach with RS. I max my connection (32mbit) ALL the time with Rapidshare! With hotfile I was sometimes stuck with 40kb/s (and I', using jdownloader with multiple streams)!!

megaupload?
They delete files less frequently than RS, HF. They don't change their rules every month.
They are the most reliable file dump in my experience.
HF deletes copyrighted materials like a champ.
RS turned to the dark side with their cooperation with copyright holders and destruction of rapid points system.
Filesonic & fileserve are too fresh in the business to be discussed. We'll have to see how they manage under copyright pressure.

Megaupload are even great when you decide to use them for free.. but there is just not enough content. Actually you are right, they deserve to be used, just like mediafire, but there is even less content there :/

Hopefully MU's popularity is growing day by day, which makes it absolutely the best choice for free users (like me)
Fileserve and Filesonic have both good speed too, but afaik there isn't any working way to enable auto-captchas with JDownloader :/

Most people are moving to fileserve now. Hotfile was the 'last' 'one' before they released a bunch of information. There is still lots of stuff on rapidshare - But because they removed the reward system it takes a bit for new stuff to show up on rapidshare.
Fileserve is what you want to get right now. You'll find that by and large most users posting on the big boards like bolt.cd/tehparadox.com are using that now.
It has nothing to do with 'speed' you obtain and everything to do with what the most popular provider currently is. Speed is irrelevant if using something like jdownloader which allows multiple connections. Fileserve is just as fast as rapidshare anyways.

Nope speed is not the same. Believe me there were times where hotfile was just incredibly slow! And you could do NOTHING about it Not even 5 simultaneous streams for two files could get this turd to be any faster
And worst thing -> EVERYTHING on hotfile has been abused.

Somehow I feel strange... If I remember correct 490 points were enough to extend your acc for one month. I have 500 on my acc and now it says 990 for one month. THE FUCK!? And 9,95€ for a month? That was 6.95€!
All except filesonic are fucking playing with the euro prices at the moment! (1 month filesonic just 5€)
Well... End of story
Back on usenet fuck yeeeeeeaaaa

depends on what you're after, but nowadays at least on public warezboards and sites like rlslog and downeu, everything gets upped (first) to filesonic and fileserve. personally, i'd lean over to the latter...just don't buy a 1 year account since like it was stated before, things might change in a few months.

Well, there used to be time when I had a friend (or rather, his dad) who gave me a proper upload rate (at the time) and I could sustain a ratio on torrent trackers. Now, I only use torrents for special stuff, like extra rare HD releases. Torrents are better, but only if you can afford a proper ratio. And renting a seedbox is more expensive than a Usenet account.
