Yep, it's this time of year to be disappointed.

Expected specs?
Quote:
After a series of leaks and rumours, it is largely understood that the Galaxy S6 will feature a 5.0-inch or a 5.2-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, Exynos 7420 SoC with a 64-bit octa-core CPU, Mali-T760MP6 GPU, 3GB or 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM, a 16-megapixel or a 20-megapixel primary camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and LTE Cat. 10 connectivity. It will also come with a touch-based fingerprint sensor, and have an Edge screen variant that could possibly have a display that curves on two sides.

I lost interest in the in every Samsung mobile devies (besides the Note series) when the S4 came out
If it won't have any new useful features, i won't even read any news about it. As for the release price i could get a fucking Note 4 and be much more productive with it

Meh.

I realized I really don't use my phone that much. And for what I use it I really don't need some octa core bullshit.

I'm not an apple fanboy like Leo (sorry Leo but you are Laughing ).

I'm just stating the obvious, current phones are overkill for an average user who texts, surfs the web and takes selfies.

Actually I know what you mean. Razz
My fiances sister wanted to get a new phone and since I know all she basically does on it is just what you mentioned I told her to get a cheap galaxy s4 mini (for a fraction of the cost of an iphone or S5 or note4). It suites her perfectly for what she does.

Edit:
lol, did shalomek put me on ignore? Laughing

I would make some joke about Samsung about it, but sadly most of the "premium" manufacturers set the prices for their devices much too high

no expandable storage, no removable battery. pricing same as iphone. KNOX shit which makes flashing anything custom extremely frustrating. so what's the point of this locked out device with locked out android? might as well get an iphone, at least it's the best locked out device money can buy.

But it has an octa-core CPU!

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

So muggers can identify you with your expensive phone easier and target you.

I really see no use for those curved screens on smartphones (yet). It might even give problems in the handling when you have touch buttons on the side too. But i guess Samsung implemented some hardware oder software protection against accidently activating those side buttons.

Though i must say, that just from a visual standpoint the S6/Note Edge look pretty cool IMO Very Happy

it's a gimmick. smartphone market is so saturated that there's hardly anyone left without a smartphone. so they need to make people who already have a smartphone buy yet another smartphone. well, can't really blame Samsung for this, all companies do it and even in various other markets. for example tvs, when everyone had full hd tv, what did they come up with? 3d. so people who had perfectly fine hdtvs bought yet another 3d set, which as we know flopped hard. now we have curved tvs, and 4k. well, 4k is a timed gimmick that will one day become norm, but for now it's still a gimmick, especially for people who don't connect pc to 4K tvs.

I enjoy watching some 3D films at home. Definitely pick 3D over 2D at the cinema.

Some are even reporting having a scratched screen when they take it out of the box.
And it bends. Laughing
