I've never even seen one of these until today, under the clothesline. It's under water for some reason

 Spoiler:

I'm pretty sure it's a male Funnel Web going by this page

Quote:
The mature male funnel-web spider will wander around during hot humid nights, looking for a mate, and is known to enter homes, footwear, clothing, washing and swimming pools where they can survive several days under water. It is highly aggressive when disturbed or cornered and is able to inflict multiple bites, with its "flick-knife" hardened fangs. People also find funnel-web spiders wandering around the garden or in the home after heavy rain or nearby earthworks. An anti-venom is available in most major hospitals and ambulance vehicles.

Sooo arachnophobia is going to set in again for the next few days. During this period limbs do not leave blankets and feet are firmly placed above ground at all times Sad

1. Burn all your clothes
2. Burn the garden
3. Burn the garage too, just to be sure
4. Take your family inside the gaming room bunker and caulk all the doors and windows
5. Drill one 20cm hole in the external wall
6. Seal it with removable insect screen, to ensure proper exchange of oxygen and direct contact with whoever will bring you food and water on daily basis
7. Survive the australiarachnoapocalypse
