Played this beauty a loooong time ago on a friend's psp. Gonna give it a go with the emulator.
Basicaly it's a turn based tactical game similar to Fire Emblem. You have a pretty nice story - a fantasy spin on the Joan of Arc, lots of characters that interact with each other during and between missions an really sound gameplay. The combat system is not the simplified rock paper scissors of fire emblem but is a clearer and more of a streamlined ff tactics. There are lots of customization options for your characters even within their class as you get various skill gems and transformations. One thing I really liked is that sometimes battles are similar to chess puzzles and with the right skills and positioning you can win the fight without letting your opponent take a turn by chaining attacks. With some of the optional bosses it is pretty much the only way to win.
It's fairly long and there is even some content for after you've finished the main story.
the only problem I rememberwis that sometimes it feels like you are supposed to grind for a bit between story missions.
I really liked this game. Generally I like tactics games anyway, this is definitely one of the better ones. After I finished it I was wishing there was more content post game. Still wanted to play it.
Edit: if you liked this, you should most certainly play Tactics Ogre Let Us Cling. I think it's probably the best Tactics game in existence. (along with Fire Emblem Awakenings) it's even more fun with cheats enabled. Not to level or max out stuff to make you OP but to give more customization within the game.
