|
 |
Just tried this newly-released game One Late Night: Deadline and it's, bluntly put, complete mullock. Runs like a bag of asses on a GTX780, is a buggy mess, feels clunky beyond any sensible recognition, and has a subpar execution, to say the least. A total waste of resources, space and time.
Other games that have come out this year, and are at this level of ruin and collapse, and that you shouldn't play are Rambo: The Video Game, Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, Escape Dead Island, and... these are all I can think of right this instant.
What about you? What are the worst entertaining pieces of software that have, unfortunately, sprung into existence this year, in your opinion?

The Slaughtering Grounds
Makes most of the games mentioned here look as brilliant games.

For me FC4 had many problems, mainly the stuttering and mouse movement. I got it fixed in the end, but only after unpacking and editing some files, because other fixes didn't help
The Crew i didn't play
Unity "played" for 2 minutes and had no nerves for that bug fest
Watchdogs was nice story wise, but rest was meh and i hoped for me

I had an immense blast with FC4. Even though it featured a lackluster story, everything else was hugely enjoyable.

I've got a few to name;
Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2. Considering their age and visuals, the technical issues were inexcusable. Launching without *any* configuration options too? Locked to 720p? Shit-ass performance? Into Room 101 you go, SE, you fucking assclowns.
Star Citizen. With the launch and subsequent year of progress in Arena Commander, I'm far from impressed with what I've seen. Visually it looks great, sure, but the system requirements are unfairly high and the combat keeps flipflopping between good and clunky, especially lately with the push to nerf keyboard and boost joystick. Even their showcase trailers often display terrible framedrops and stuttering
Elite Dangerous. Despite two years of promises, it was made online-only a month before release. Fuck you Braben, really and truly.
Watch_Dogs. Fantastic game, crippled by ridiculous performance and optimisation even after a six month delay "for optimisation"
I'm sure there's more that have drawn the ire of Sabin, but I can't think of any more irritating right now

Depends on if you want disappointments of 2014 like people posting , or just complete failures like slaughtering ground or similar "games".
Disappointments: (i was looking forward too and didnt met my expectations)
Dragon Age Inquisition - overall MMOishness and the broken tactical mode and controls
AC: Unity - pretty much just for the horrible optimization - even though i would rate it better than Ezio 1 and 2
The Crew
Fable Anniversary - release state ,when original version worked better and imo still looks better
RYSE - i expected a shit ,but not that shit , but still cant mark it as to failure list - because of graphics and the some kind of enjoyment playing it (yeah i was a bit high and drunk , but it wast that bad in that state of mind)
Dead Rising 3 - pretty much just for the horrible optimization and for how it tries to be "serious" - lost the silliness and wackiness of DR2 , but enjoyed it after all
Failures (i had the misfortune to touch)
"SACRED" 3
Slaughtering Grounds
One Day of Ched
Sonic Boom
WOODLE TREE ADVENTURES
Air Control
Rambo - Videogame..

Sacred 3? Did you typo and mean Sacred 2? Sacred 2 was fantastic! Shame we never got a sequel or followup, I'd have loved a Sacred 3.

He didn't. There IS a Sacred 3. But it enormously deviates from the previous games' focus and gameplay style in a negative way. It's a failure of a sequel.

I've deliberately stayed away from some of the announced terribad games this year, but I still was let down, multiple times
(some copy-pasted from my previous post)
Rambo: The Game (<-clickable) (no explanation needed)
Thi4f (The ABC of how to completely destroy a franchise, from the masters of the Reboos that noone asked for. Linear, contrived, unnecessarily cinematic, no jump Garut pls! only sweep and hoard candies)
Dragon Age Inquisition (The Hatoful Boyfriend of RPGs, plagued by most of the similar nu-generational issues and awesome buttons as its predecessor, only put in a far better context, which surely helps, but isn't enough to magically turn it into a competent role playing game)
Elite Dangerous (no forever alone mode, no ISOdemo, no buy!)
Assassin's Creed Unity (I've managed to play 3 chapters at 22fps/720p, doing the same stuff over and over, with no surprises at all, repeating the same tasks till exhaustion, le Ubi way, until I had to inevitably give up because the miracle patch marketed for weeks made things even worse)
Ryse (The fact that people at Guantanamo are seriously considering using it as a torture technique should already make you raise an eyebrow. Press A to send Cevat home, he's drunk)
Murdered Soul Suspect (The only investigator that doesn't need to investigate because the cinematics do all the job for him)
Daylight (Jessica Chobot's writing wasn't even the worst part about the game, and that says a lot)
Call of Duty Advanced Warfare (It was presented as the true most nextgen cowadoody ever, with new exciting devs, lots of innovations, jetpacks! It ended up being the same deja-vu Baytrain as usual. I'm not even mad)
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 (If anyone needs a rat simulator, avoid the first, decent game, and play this one instead)
Assassin's Creed Liberation (I thought it wasn't possible, but this game managed to simplify the Assassin's Creed formula. It was a remarkable achievement in its own right)
Deus Ex The Fall (This 2014 was also the year of mobile ports. Needless to say, I never asked for this)
Watch Dogs (Promises, promises, promises. Then lies, lies, lies. A chore and a bore, potential blown, a technical mess, generic characters, press Q to everything. Only the decent side missions saved this game for me. Ubisuf pls!)
GRID Autosport and F1 2014 (Making fun of Codemasters is getting redundant, but they can't help it really. The outstanding cockpit view was only the cherry on top of the pie, the 5% of the fans -the ones affected by presbyopia- can consider themselves pleased)
FIFA 15 (Too much focus on the silly side contents, and not enough attention to the core gameplay. But then again, it's EA. The more arcadey and faster casual style didn't help either)
Jagged Alliance Flashback (A new Jagged Alliance 2 they said. Don't mind the cartoony visuals, it will be great, they said. Don't mind the bugs, they will be fixed, they said. Ha! You fell for it, they said)
Sacr3d (An aberration that is only the product of evil minds who just want to see the world burn)
Sims 4 (Full price for roughly the 40% of a game, EA really surpassed themselves this time around. With the free additional contents kindly brought us by the SantEA himself to celebrate the fact that they're not the worst company in America anymore, we've reached the 45%)
Sid Meier's Civilization 5.1 Beyond DLCs (Not a complete failure because the formula is still fun but damn, it really felt like a lazy rehash)
The Ultimate Spodermon 2 (Oh dear. I'm not sure which is worse, the game or the movie. Poor Spidey he deserves none of this)

Wow, with the amount of people blasting Elite Dangerous, I'm surprised no one mentioned Reaper of Souls and it's always online requirement.

I have to say Dragon Age despite the fact that its being raised to the skies by some people.
I thought the system was clumsy and the tactical battle was pretty much shite. The game is still good, but I expected much more.
Other games are the latest UBI soft games which really should not have that much problem as one would think that a well established company as UBI would have more than enough experience to make the release flawless. (then again, I thought so too about Blizzard and still their D3 release was among the worst ever).
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
