The PSU is 700 Watt.
I was thinking it might be the PSU, I might buy a new one and return it straight away if it doesn't solve the problem.

it's a driver crash, so yeah, did you tried any other older newer beta drivers?

I've had the card for a year, and always downloaded the most up to date drivers as soon as they are released.
I'll try installing some of the older drivers before I buy a new PSU,
Cheers

Is the card stock overclocked? A few select games might have problems with that, especially when turbo mode kicks in on top of it.
Install nvidia inspector and reduce the base clock by 80-150mhz then see if it still crashes

Definitely sounds power related - either overclocked too high without enough voltage to supply, or a bad PSU not giving constant juice over the rail, or eben a bad power board on the card itself (which has happened to me...)
Typical troubleshooting; take card to friends and see if same problem, try different PSU (as long as it's more than say, 650w) and see how that goes.
Other things to try - unplug all unnecessary hardware (HDD's, external stuff etc), so you have just the bare essentials for booting into windows - rare occasions of bad hardware sucking too much power can also cause such issues.
Good luck

Both cards take one 6 pin and one 4 pin.
The PSU I'm using is...
OCZ Stealth Xstream II 700W PSU - 6x SATA 2x PCI-E
Bought it in may 2012.
The 4 pin and 6 pin are separate wires that come out the PSU

you mean 6+8pin, right?
do you have a second pci-e to test the card in?

Yeah sorry, 6-8 pin.
I've got it in another PCI-e card now and I'm just about to test the May 2014 drivers...

Dear God, 6/8 pin indeed... What's up with me!
It's a bit odd that one works and not the other...
Does the mb have another pci-e slot to try?

Finally got time to reformat the pc.
Reformatted, first thing I installed was the graphics card drivers.
PC restarts right after the windows boot up screen finishes.
Would it be a good idea to order a new PSU now?

niknak either you got a power leak somewhere or it's the psu itself if you can borrow another psu or have a spare one laying around see if the problem persists

have you tried glaring at it..then trying, if that doesn't work curse at it?
those are my first 2 troubleshooting steps before checking parts.

I'm on the verge of the Russian method haha.
I just don't get why it would be a power issue if it just crashes windows when the drivers are installed.
I've ordered one anyway, time will tell.

do you have any extra usb ports plugged in to the mobo, see if all usb ports are intact
try removing your mobo from your case and only attach boot drive see if it boots normally
also try to reset cmos
