Got a problem with re-installing original Win7 64bits that came with Toshiba.
The Toshiba has 2 partitions.
1 for installing Windows and 1 for factory installed Windows.

I want to do a " recovery " of the second partition, I mean re-install Win7 that
came with the computer.
Problem is that I press all the buttons I see on the Internet but still cannot get
the " recovery " options anywhere. Just see the Windows safe boot.

Try to install a Win7 64 bits original disc but gets stuck at 65-70% and gives error.
Any Ideas would be nice.

Computer is :
Toshiba Satellite P750 Series

why would you install the loads of crapware which may be included within the original files? just get a fresh w7sp1 image from the net and install it via usb-stick. drivers are on the website from toshiba

towards the recovery stuff, i dont know about that models recovery features. some got it integrated in the bios and some (i think thats the case with your toshiba hdd recovery) do have the recovery partition, but you need to boot up windows and run the toshiba recovery disc creator. that tool creates a bootable dvd from the data on the second partition. and in some cases (think i heard of it, never used it) you can press f8 before windows loads up, select repair computer and it loads of some stuff from toshiba to copy over the files from the recovery partition

Thanks Janz.

Thats what I did, I DL Windows 7 SP1 and put it on a USB. It is "finalizing" that gets the error around 65-70% of "finalizing". Then Windows cannot continue and there Im stuck.

Windows is screwed up. Cannot boot at all. Sad

We have a Acer computer that when the battery is hooked up it turns on a second, flashes a red light, then turns OFF. We can use the computer using the Adapter but would have to remove the battery. Any ideas on this one ?

Thanks again.

I'd redownload your win7 image..I think it's corrupted. (I had the same problem a few years back. Couldn't figure out why it wouldn't install, then redownloaded an image and it worked fine.) As for your second question, it's a bad battery. Buy a new one off ebay or use the laptop as a "desktop" in place without the battery.

Thanks Cyberia.

Yeh tried 3 different Win7 DVDs and booted with USB. Same problem at the same place.

I guess the battery is bad, but the computer was never used, just stuffed in a closet.
We used the Toshiba, now its screwed.

It will cost around 35 bucks to reinstall the original Windows Recovery at the store.
Dont want to spend the money.

would redownload a fresh image from ms/digitalriver. just google win 7 iso image and you get the links directly from ms. would not use dvds anymore, maybe try a different usb stick. got a few here, and one or two dont work to install windows from them (although they working fine with everything else)

with battery you mean the powersource from the laptop and not the bios battery right? cause bios battery should not lead to such a fault. according to stored in the closet, batterys getting damaged even if not used at all they lose capacity. but strange that windows wouldnt install when it is attached.

i would assume your toshiba got a hardware failure if installations crashes with different images/methods. my pick would be hdd or ram failure. please get the ultimatebootcd, burn it or put it on a usb stick (i.e. with universalusbinstaller). boot it up and check you harddisk with the vendor tool and the ram via memtest

I use the Rufus USB installer to install Windows Boot CD on the USB.

I will check the ultimatebootcd and put it on a USB and see.

Thanks Janz.

Gonna check them both.
Do you think it could be because of Drivers ?
That finalizing stops ?

Thanks Janz.

EDIT :
Well, found no problems with hardware.
Maybe Toshiba has a special Windows ?

nope, nothing which could cause the installer to crash. in that toshiba recovery shit are the drivers integrated (which can be downloaded from their site) and some crapware. nothing else

so this is strange. so you tried different images as well as different installmediums?
