As title says. Was doing an AVG scan and disk started making sounds like it was rebooting and system grinded to a halt eventually bsodding. Disk was fucked for a few reboots and then booted again after I let it stew for a while.

Short test in seatools it passes but it fails on the long one(with the rebooty sound)

Guess ill have to pick up a new one tommorow and hope this one holds out till I can back everything up

I feel your pain dude. Hope you got it sorted. Mine is slowly dying too. Clicks constantly and the PC freezes for about 30 seconds everytime I click a hyperlink to load a new webpage followed by a click when it unfreezes. Not sure how much longer it will last. Sad

I respect slowly dying disks. It's the sudden death ones that can fuck you up real nice...

Yup, my 1TB Caviar Black is on the way out too, keeps randomly disappearing from comp. I did a health check and it (only) has 2 bad sectors, but meh.. whole drive just up and vanishes sometimes, have to reboot to get it back. This is my emulators/music/downloads drive, so I backed music/emulators as those are the ones I cannot lose Sad

I backed up everything from my HDDs and was almost convinced it was my primary drive that was failing so I disconnected my secondary drive and the clicking and intermittent freezing stopped! Strange how my secondary drive would affect the operation of my PC causing intermittent 2-30 second freezes simply when clicking links on webpages.
