The Flash is an upcoming American television series developed by writer/producers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns, to air on The CW. It will be based on the DC Comics character Flash (Barry Allen), a costumed crime-fighter who was created by Robert Kanigher, John Broome and Carmine Infantino. It is intended to be a spin-off to Arrow, existing in the same universe. A pilot, to be written by Berlanti, Kreisberg and Johns, and directed by David Nutter, has been greenlit. The series was officially picked up on May 8, 2014.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Ill give it the same treatment I gave the arrow, check it out for a few eps early on and decide whether or not it's worthy of my time. I dropped arrow after something like 4 episodes...
Like I mentioned earlier, I'm a big fan of the flash, and I really hope this doesn't turn out like every other show on the CW.

Funny, I started a topic for this show back in March when they first released the promo pic so I guess the search skills of tw1st aren't as fast as the Flash.
im not quite sure how they'll keep this fresh to be honest.
hes a guy that beats up people in an instant and people cant do shit about it. you cant shoot him, you cant stab him, you cant blow him up, because he just zips out of danger and enemies dont stand a chance...
so... what... how are they going to keep this interesting week to week, because hes basically one of the most overpowered superheroes ever.
unless they plan on either regressing the character to essentially a cop show where he solves cases every week and only does his 'flash' thing at the end to catch the villain after 90% of the show has been tracking them down, or they contrive ways of de-powering him every week or some shit?
flash is movie material... i just dont think he makes very good TV show material? but i guess we'll see.
I love Flash. I've always wanted him to get a movie, it always pissed me off when I saw other DC characters getting that and him just getting ignored. A TV show though? Not sure... especially this particular TV show. It does look like way too much teenage crap. So yeah, I do agree that Flash is material better fit for a movie.
The pilot isn't that bad, really. It's obviously a lot more superpowered than Arrow, so that's more or less how they plan on keeping it fresh and challenging for Barry - by using new supervillains. Supporting characters are kinda... bad, though. I mean, fuck-up level bad, at least that's the impression I got. And, of course, it can easily become an angsty teen drama. But the pilot is worth watching nontheless.

Thinking it'll be canned within the initial season. I'm not the target audience, but for met at least it all just becomes angst-filled teenage drama, this time its about a guy who can run fast. These shows are trial and error. If this superhero fails, they'll dig up another one, throw him/her at a wall and see if it sticks and gets a big enough following each week.
