Title is fucking dumb
Game looks like Rust in medieval time, open world with crafting, building, terraforming. The idea is nice, but for now its early access shit. May worth keeping an eye on it!

Seems absolutely worth keeping on the radar.

It probably will go the same road as Rust.
Starts good, then development start slowing down and now there are only cheaters

The solution is just to wait and see. One of these projects must make it to the end of the development process, eventually.

The MMO they want to build using this as a base is very promising tbh, but like with all of these indie mmo projects; I doubt this 'your own' mp demo or whatever it is will sell well. the MMO project will get scrapped or be in limbo in a year, that or it will be another case of mortal online.
I want to see this succeed, but the odds are very much against them I'd say.

looks ace featurewise but forcing it to be a MMO will break their neck.If they would go the DayZ/Rust/Whatever road serverwise, they would be able to deliver a solid product. However, this whole "buy EA now and get a free character-ticket when the MMO releases" makes people not buy it (IF they had not lost interest while reading "early access" already)

Yeah it's also on their forums somewhere, didn't know it had a SP tag on the store page though (They keep talking about that MMO they're making.), that's a bit misleading though I guess you can play it solo as a sort of limited sandbox experience.

I think you do, unless I misread that other forum's thread (haven't tried it myself though). In which case it's not really a cracked release, Steam shouldn't be required at all.

Latest version is out.. I've been messing around on an accelerated home version (20x skills) it's not bad, but goddamn the chains on some things are long. It really shouldn't take me all day on a an accelerated server just to cobble together a hobo shack.
Fine if you want to get into house stuff, just to get a house:
You have to massively level up terraforming
massively level up construction (all the way to 60)
massively level up logging (to cut down hardwood)
level up carpentry

Seems about in-line with the way UO did it, thought that was what they were going for?

I don't know what they're going for. I don't mind needing lots of things to build fancy, high level places. But if I want to strap a couple boards together (especially how it looks in game) I shouldn't need nearly top tier construction to do it. There should be a hobo shack available much lower. Even at 30 or 0 construction. You also shouldn't need such a high level of logging skill to make it either. Maybe softwood, or something would be fine.
Prospecting could also be a little better thought out. Right now. I have a spot. I'm trying to find iron.
At a distance of 4. I can spot iron. At 2 I can't. If I walk 2 in either direction, I still can't spot it in 2. So that tells me it should be down or into the ground. So I start tunnelling in. I tunnel in at least 3 lengths, 1 of them down and I can prospect iron at a distance of 4 on the floor panel, or the left or right well. But not the wall in front of me. Still can't prospect at a distance of 2.
So I dig out the left wall 2 lengths. Still can't prospect at 2. A lack of metal is totally holding me back. Especially with the insane time it takes to dig out a tunnel. Even carrying nothing, we're talking minimum 5 trips and using up a whole pickaxe, just to dig out one length. Takes nearly an hour.

This sounds like a fucking chore rather than a game.

It's meant to not be a quick game, and I get that. That's good. Lots of long term growth for servers, but, like all of these things, once you get to that level, the flood gates have opened and nothing takes time any more.
There is a good long bit of progression here. Every server is a project, but I think certain basic things should be a little quicker in being available.

When this was part of the Indie Gala early access bundle I had the page open on my other monitor with some guy playing it on twitch from the Indie Gala page. Not sure what he was making but he was punching the ground for like 5 minutes to get some rocks only to discover he still needed like another 15 more after that. It was kind of amusing but also something I would not want to do in a game.
