Joe Rogan signs with Spotify in major and exclusive podcast deal
Joe Rogan has signed an exclusive deal with Spotify, which will see his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, disappear from all other platforms.
The multi-year deal is believed to be worth $100m (£82 million), according to the Wall Street Journal.
"It will remain free, and it will be the exact same show," said Rogan. "It's just a licensing deal, so Spotify won't have any creative control over the show.
smart move, sell when it peaks, at some point u will run out of interesting guests and topics or people move on
i never listened, just watched a few youtube clips and frankly , the guy isnt the smartest and barely does any homework to ask real good questions, it all depends on his guest and how well versed they are at telling good stuff

It's obvious Pickup wasn't trying to say he is an idiot per se, you can be a successful businessman (aka sealing a deal) and still be clueless, "not the smartest" in the bunch, tons of very obvious examples of that "paradox".
His statement is true tbh, while I like Joe's character and charisma, and his ability to surround himself with.. interesting figures.. which got me interested in his podcast to begin with, he barely does any homework unless he was interested in the subject prior to the show, and his opinion can be manipulated in a painfully easy way. He's rather pleasant to listen to, but after a while, you get tired of it all.
IMHO, he's great.
And when a former MMA fighter is more intellectualy and morally thourough than your Yale-educated anchors, politicians and policy-makers, maybe it's time to reevaluate your society, rather than throwing stones around in a veranda.

Agree, i think hes relatable, he's also really good when he disagree's with a guest. He gives them room to have their say and doesnt derail the whole thing to be right all the time.
He isn't the smartest yet he just signed a 100 mil deal with Spotify for a podcast he created but no he's not smart at all. What an idiot. Which is it? Smart move or not smart?
Very smart move by Joe. He has been doing the podcast for over a decade, the time it becomes stale and on the downtrend has been coming for awhile, if it hasn't already. Personally, I stopped listening around 2013-2014. Since then I think he became more "corporate" and started doing a lot of podcasts he didn't want to do. This alleged $100+ million Spotify contract, the enormous UFC contract and his stand-up shows how business savvy he really is.
I respect the dude for his composure and dignified behaviour when having some of the more mentally challenged guests on his show, being a UFC fighter so many times I envisioned him sliding over the table and putting Alex Jones in a lock.
Yeah, I think they just mix up that he IS a trained in MMA, as in he trains in different martial arts. But, in his words, he was about 10 years too early and was already too old, when MMA was really getting popular in the early 2000s.
He IS the voice of UFC tho, which I guess is what some people who don't follow UFC could mix up.
Joe's opinion is heavily based on the last guest he had on his show and is all over the place. He doesn't do it on purpose though, he just wants the "best" of every ideology I guess?!
