So my dad bought a DLINK DIR-605L router for LAN and WiFi purposes (LAN for Smart TV and Multimedia HDD player,WiFi for the entire house)
The problem is,we cannot configure it AT ALL...On the very first steps..
The steps says that We must connect first the Router's WAN (Yellow) by connecting an Ethernet cable between my modem/Router's LAN port and the DLINK's WAN port...Checked.
Connect an ethernet cable between the PC and DLINK's LAN Port N.1.. checked (It's connected to a PCI Slot card that works like an Ethernet port..Provider/Company's card i say i guess.
Now,the problem...go to the web browser (Firefox) and type 192.168.0.1 or http://dlinkrouter
....I write it out and Firefox stays on "Searching..." just for showing in the end that "Cannot find server/whatever"
...What am i doing wrong?..Some people on youtube have the same problem but nobody gave a fuck about it
HELP!!
PS: We bought some months ago a Belkin Wifi router for my sister and they got able to install it on the 1st time..Don't know WTF's going on...
Note also that we have a BASE Modem at the top floor of our house that links to the bottom floor of the house where i and the router that's connected to my PC (and the BASE modem) is at by using an "Ethernet bridge",along with a few more ethernet connections that goes between the top floor (again) and the bottom floor's dining room
Yes,it's a bit of a troubling jungle of cables
Thanks in advance.

Nope, doesn't works at all...Tried sending out a support ticket (had to register the product..) to Dlink...Dunno if they'll be of any help.
Hope there's a fix for this or else my dad (who bought it by his own instincts ..without asking shop guys ¬¬) is gonna get a bit mad..But it won't be my fault (told him to ask the shop's guys!)

Try 192.168.1.1
or in cmd type ipconfig /all and look what gateway IP you have and connect to that.
Luckily i have my mom's Laptop...Here's what i did
Temporally disconnected my PC's Ethernet cable FROM THE ROUTER and instead i connected the DLINK's cable between the recently unplugged cable's port and the DLINK Router's Yellow port.
Plugged a 3M Ethernet cable between DLINK's LAN Port 1 and the LAPTOP.
Tried some of the IPs until the DLINK's guide menu appeard...So i've chosen the language,Auto Detect, then put my WiFi password blablabla...Finished setting it up.
Connected the Dining Room's Ethernet Bridge's cable from the wall to DLINK's YELLOW Port. Then connected the left over cable between DLINK's LAN Port N.1 to my dad's WD TV Live HUB 1TB. Went to my PC and it detected the HDD and it's folders. Great!
Now,shouldn't the DLINK Router's WiFi share my Optic Fiber WiFi?...because on my Samsung Galaxy S3 it reaches between 1-3 of 5 "Waves" randomly...Unless i've done something wrong. The Speed is 10-13MB/s (100Mb,aka 100% usage depending of what, like Steam) and the "WiFi light" from the DLINK router's lighted up but NOT blinking.
Any ideas,or "It should work as it should" ?
Oh and thanks for the help from before and in advance.

Ohh, I misunderstood you.
Let me see if I got this straight.
You have 2 different routers/modems?
In that case you have to set one up as just a switch/AP otherwise you'll have a network within a network kind of thing (or it won't work at all) if DHCP is enabled on both of them.
If you want to setup the DLINK then remove the WAN cable and just connect to it directly through LAN. And the same thing with the other modem/router.
i dont wanna sound like an ass, but return that thing right away and get a netgear, linksys, tp-link or fritzbox instead.
d-link routers are the worst crap, highly unstable, look forward to frequent loss of connection and as you already noticed the very random and unreliable wireless coverage.
trust me, you will go crazy trying to fix all the issues like me, before you finally accept the advice every single forum on the net will give you: "never get a d-link".
Jesus, bad news already ^^;.....However my dad's a hard head and until he sees such failures he won't accept the truth,etc..
Thanks for the warning though

I agree with the D-link issues tho. I've had a couple since 2001 and it's been hit and miss with most of them.
Had a 'better' model which my sister bought and I borrowed and didn't have any issues with at all, then she wanted it back and I got the same model as hers. Suddenly it would just drop speeds to a halt as soon as I started torrenting where it choked the shit out of the network. After a week of troubleshooting I came to the conclusion that it was a piece of shit router. Went out and bought the ASUS dark night or whatever it's called and haven't looked back since.
I would even recommend what The_Zeel mentioned.
Ohh and to clarify further my previous post.
One of the routers has to have it's DHCP turned off, they then tend to automatically just work as a switch/access point (but better double check just to make sure).
Told him the news and, like i said,he didn't mind...Wait until the failures happens and then i'll do that Doraemon pose from ya avatar and say (in a non literal way, just parody..and not for real)

My most sincere apologies but the fail is on my part this time...Doing so much configuring that BITCH out n shit and i forgot to add the router's WiFi / key that's connected to my White Router (The one that's connected between the W.R and the DLINK one)
....FULL POWER,.....For now
Will say something if the router dies on my dad XDDDDD.
