So today my friend, my sister an my brother in law went biking to a local mountain. 1033 m altitude, not that big of a mountain, but a nice ride nonetheless.
So all was fine, we biked up the hill to the top, and decided to go to a near mountain home, to get something to eat. And as we were going down the road, I wanted to put my sunglasses on (for maximum cool effect ofc lol j/k), and I stopped and heard: pssssssssssssss

I got flat fucking tire! Of course I had no spare with me (because I'm unprepared as fuck), so I waited for bus, and hoped that he'd let me get in with the bike so that I could go home.

That, of course, didn't happen. So my sister said that I should go on the bus, and that they'll chain the bike and get it back with car.

I think that they are going back up as I type this.

The worst part is that I didn't get to go down the mountain with bike, because that's awesome, you go faster than 50 km/h, and that feeling is just great Sad

This way I got home by fucking public transport -.-"

Well at least I got a hell of a workout going up Very Happy

And thats already more than I could say for myself today.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I had a snakebite puncture once when I went downhill riding years back. It was unrepairable. What I used was a lot of dry grass. You just really pack it in and you should be OK to get home. It's probably best to do it on the front wheel, so swap the innertube over if necessary.

I'm waiting for my sister and brother in law to get with the bike (I hope it didn't get stolen Laughing), then I'll replace the inner tube altogether. I already had it patched.

From Grafičar all the way to Donja Dubrava? lolno Plus I'd have to go on Sljemenska cesta, to Mihaljevac, and there all the way to Donja Dubrava... That's like 20 km Reaction

Yeah the surroundings are great (altho today is better day for going up, it was sunny, and yesterday wasn't), the nature is awesome. We often go hiking there Smile

Next year I plan on getting a better bike, so that I can drive on some offroad trails Smile

Tyres are so annoying, I can't believe that we still use rubber with little baloon-things inside them. :S

+1

Probably Dingo's bike was also bitten by a snake! This is our domestic snake.

The next tire I'll buy has some kind of gel inside that automatically stops the air going out Smile Self sealing tube. If only I had that yesterday xD

And I doubt that the snake bit my tire xD

Haha indeed, it's quite surprising that we haven't found a 100% working way to replace this old method. There are actually some 'puncture-proof' tyres available which use stronger materials like vectran, but apparently they're not the definitive solution, either.

Btw Dingo, it's happened to me too when I used to go biking more often than I do now (which is, basically never xD), ~8 km on foot with some rain too..would not do it again Very Happy Laughing

Been there, done that. Almost hauling the bike on my back after getting a snakebite. More than once. Funny thing is that I even used to have more downhill-purposed tubes - 4-5 times the price of a normal one. Guess what? They're even worse Very Happy
