If this is inappropriate, then delete.
If, you all could build/be part of a game, what would it be like?
What type - fps, MMO, rpg, etc.?
2D or 3D
There are a lot more questions but after being on these forums for years, I'm interested to see in what direction you think a very good pc game should take.
There have been a ton of what ya playing threads and the usual prerelease chatter but this is about a game that doesn't exist...maybe we could come up with something epic and see if there is somebody in the gaming world we can sell it to? Hey, trying doesn't hurt.

RPG, absolutely, and I'd like to see a 2D revival.. and I'm not just talking about RPG Maker (though that is why I have such love for it) back to the old days of the 16bit Square/Enix jRPGs. I'm a sucker for action RPGs mostly, more than the classic PC cRPGs, so if I had the talent I'd be making one of those.

There was a badass online co-op Castlevania game not too long ago. Now, this particular game was not the greatest thing ever, but I love the idea of an amazing 2D platformer with online co-op, fantasy elements, etc, and have a strong RPG component, character growth etc.
I would love to go absolutely nuts on an idea like that, and I would aim for some really amazing animations.
Kind of like a 2D/platformer Diablo 3 or something. A few games have touched on it, but nothing really crazy. And I don't like the MMO ones like MapleStory, but I do love the idea.
A nice 4 player co-op would suffice, just reallllyyyyy built out into a full game.
I think the only thing pretty close on the horizon is Witchmarsh, which is looking pretty fine.

Aye.. desperately waiting for Wayward Souls release for PC. Played on iPad briefly and really enjoyed, but would love a controller (MFI support coming for iOS version, but fuck that). Felt very Secret of Mana to me, which as a kid, oh boy.. talk about sinking hours into a game.

YES! neocron was awesome. Still play it from time to time..working on a spy droner on and off now
For me:
Long ago id say RPG or RTS. but now Id say MMO.
But one thats back to the roots like neocron, anarchy online, asheron's call, etc. That level of complexity of characters and sandbox..built now with all the options engines and pc/server power can do now to make the world just as complex and dynamic.

For me it would be a persistent world online game, with deep stat system, but skill based combat. PvE, and very challenging, possibly perma death. Cooperation would be the name of the game. Build settlements, towns, go out on dangerous resourse hunts. And the game world only opens up, if players cooperate well, and colonize.
If you go out with a team, and try to explore, but all of you are killed, then your character and loot are gone forever. You'd also have to build up the logistics of your exploration: bring camping equipment, specific potions and oils against the enemies you'd most likely face, etc.
Sci-fi setting.

Y'know as... um... yeah... as that sounds, I'm ASTONISHED there isn't an MMORPG Pokémon game in existence...if any type of game would work well as an MMORPG, this is one of them.
Wandering around, picking fights, capturing and training the little monsters, doing the whole pilgrimage thing... It's not something I would personally play, but (and I really hate to say this), imagine the profits involved with a game like this - just imagine the things that could be bought for Pokecoins... *shudder*

Single-player only action RPG, 3D, possibly in first person perspective (but it's not too important), and huge focus on freedom/immersion/strong choice->consequence system (underrated aspect these days).
Basically a Fallout New Vegas 2 or Vampire Bloodlines 2 (@Sabin ) would do the job just fine .
Would also love a proper sequel based on the Shock universe, only without the -bio.
And an unforgiving post-apocalyptic open world FPS with drivable vehicles/helicopters, dynamic life, factions, basically a Stalker-Arma hybrid.

I just recently posted this in another thread, but my perfect game would be a mixture of Diablo (level randomization, character classes, loot) and Serious Sam (frantic ego-shooter with tons of enemies). Setting doesn't really matter, fantasy, scifi, steampunk... as long as it allows for varied play-styles and a huge variety in environments and enemies.
Hellgate London tried this and unfortunately was a buggy mess, Borderlands comes close, but the levels are not randomized, and the skill-trees suck, same as in many arpgs. Skills in Diablo all allow you to cast interesting things, whereas the Borderlands skilltrees just give percentage bonuses to some weapon class or slightly modify the one active skill you have.
