I can tell you right now, After next episode there will be still around 8-9 chapters left to cover from the manga.
No way in hell another ~22 mintues of episode will be enough to end the series.
They are probably going to cover it with 2-3 movies or another mini season or something like that.
There will be announcement on April 3, the day this season is supposedly ending.
Perhaps they decide to go with a completely different ending, from what I heard the manga one was very divisive, and then make a final season part three with 12 more eps.

Even if they decide to go with a different ending, the point the story is at after last sunday's episode there's no way to get in a single 22-minute episode an ending other than the whole planet (whichever planet that is) exploding and everyone dying, how would that be for divisive?

I know, thats why I think they may actually extend it to another 12 part season, but since this one is already called final season, it would have to be part 3.

I thought the point of switching to studio mappa was faster production so as to not drag it out.
If it was gonna be like this they should have stuck with Wit at least.

Yea wit animation is far superior too, it's a shame they decide to give the last seasons to mappa, not giving a shit about the animation since people are gonna want to finish watching the show anyway now.

Hm... on the paper another 12 part season is way more than enough to cover whats left from the story, but considering Isayama rushed a bit the ending in the last few chapters I won't be surprised if they decided to do part 3 it will be a bit more longer than needed.
Isayama admitted once the anime changed a bit things from the manga he wasn't quite fond of he did.
MAYBE he is trying again to "fix" the ending, but there are some key elements in the ending I doubt they will be changed.
So don't expect day and night different from the manga ending.
