Getting? It had the original Alan Wake too. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to mention how much it sucked, but BLEGH! The first Alan Wake was EXCELLENT. Well worth playing.
Looks good, thanks! Any news on exactly WHAT it is? I mean, we've had the base game (excellent) and two follow-up DLCs (I've not played either yet...) -- is this another follow-up? Sequel? What?
I doubt the XBLA game is a follow up. But im really excited anyway Completed both the signal and the writer DLC

Ya the 360 has some good games, Alan Wake, Gears, Lost Odyssey. I meant 2012 and beyond, I'd like to just pack this brick up and be done with it. Heck, I think its about to red ring, I hope I can get thru the Alan Wake XBLA game before it totally clunks.
So referring to your most recent Joystiq post ... It's awesome to hear you say that Alan Wake appears in your hearts – I've read through all the responses on your site which is fueled with positive responses. It really would seem Alan Wake is very close to the hearts of the fans out there, and to ours too. To that point, it's a shame that this news leaked before our official announcement which will of course include the visuals and information to support it. Well, now that the cat is out of the bag, we owe it to you and the fans to shed a little more light before we get the chance to officially show them what the guys have been up to.
Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that yes, more Wake is coming! But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake installment will not be Alan Wake 2. But neither will it be DLC. The rest we're saving for our official announcement when we'll actually SHOW YOU.
We are really excited about this project which a slice of our team has been working on for the last months. It's something that'll definitely give more to the Wake fans out there, but just as importantly, this installment will also give an opportunity for players who aren't familiar with the franchise to finally jump on board.
We can't wait to show you more, bear with us. Release dates, platforms and pricing are unconfirmed as of yet, but Fall 2011 is probably a good guess. More coming soon!

I also really enjoyed Alan Wake, and the 2 DLC episodes were excellent also. Im unsure about this XBLA tangent, will have to wait and see what it is. Could do with AW2 though

I think I killed the experience for me as I played on the hardest difficulty from the start - some of the areas were BULLSHIT hard from memory. Annoyed the FUCK out of me.
Game seemed exactly like one I would have loved tho -- might try again on EASY to get the rest of the story
I very much enjoyed it. Had a max payne vibe from it. Excellent story and very well shown.
I loved graphics and atmosphere, plenty of tv shows, little details in the world and can't understand why reviewers were bashing it for linearity( I think that not every game should be open world. I enjoy good linear game), lenght (over 10 hours, which is more than other games today) and repetivity.... Well its true somehow. You shine flashlight on a guy and then shoot him. There are other variants to it but its Max Payne all over again, which some people like and some hate.
I am strongly recommending it for people who like games like Max Payne or The Darkness and eagerly awaiting for pc release becouse even tho 360 version was looking great and running smooth, You could see really low below 720p resolution
Its sure one of most underrated games this "gen".... Well... actually I can see how people who play games casually without paying any attention to story ,world details, characters etc might find gameplay repetitive and boring. I am opposite of that and play games for atmosphere

Meh, i got really bored half-way through first game. Enemy variety was the biggest bummer. It's like you shoot exactly the same dude over, over and over again.
Played American Nightmare today for a bit. It's great especially when you remember that it's an XBLA game. Controls are a lot smother and it's pretty much the same Alan Wake experience only a bit more actiony, but overall it's really fun and enjoyable.
I like the setting of Alan Wake more (WN Pacific is it?) but this nevada thing that American Nightmare has going on fits well with the game as well.
There's bit more exploration involved this time around, and the levels are more like small maps (with different points of interest; for ex.:diners, motels, old train station, etc) than medium corridors like in the original game.
The atmosphere is not as tensed as in the first one, with the creepy fog and forest unveiled in darkness gone but, again, this more open, spacious desert thing goes well with the premise of the game.
There's a bigger variety of enemies, some of witch add variety in combat as well; they require a slightly different combat approach.
There are a lot more weapons to use as well and I haven't notice any difficulty setting; might get unlocked after beating the game for the first time.
The game looks a lot smother and the lighting is better than the first one, in some places. The facial animations/lipsync have been improved as well
Wow, an arcade game that actually looks better than a full priced game, seems very rare.
I loved Alan Wake, it's in my top 10 best games this gen, going to buy this sucker for sure!

To be fair, most arcade games look "sharper" than Alan Wake because it renders at 960x576

yeah...right
Upgrades to the Wake engine are clearly noticeable. First up, there's an obvious resolution boost, up from 960x544 to what we think (after some hints from Markus Maki) is in the region of 1120x585 - just over 25 per cent higher than it was in Alan Wake's debut outing. The increase to resolution is immediately apparent, especially on Alan himself
