Found this thread 4 pages back lol.
I’m still intrigued what this game will be like in 4 years time since they said it will be supported for half a decade.
If they can give it a good massive expansion like The Following that would be great!
Soon they will be competing with Dead Island 2 though!
I gave it another go and the writing is just unbearable. I wasn't keen on the story of the first game, but that one played batter or at least that's how I remember it. This one is so freakin' clunky and the combat doesn't feel good. Coming from Darktide, the combat hre feels like a huge downgrade despite having more variety.

yes, i too gave it another go a few weeks ago, my opinion is same as when at launch, gameplay feels more floaty or something. was cracked version, ive seen comments they improved many things so maybe it feels better now.
This is how poor the scene is today, that even unprotected games released on GOG take several days to get a release nowadays. So a steam protected one like this one which would have taken 20 minutes 5 years ago now takes days or who knows, weeks.
This game is the 27th most played game in steam's history For some reason people really love this one. They sold 5 million in three weeks

Nothing of value has been improved. Maybe the coop actually works now, but who cares anymore.

But it shipped/sold a shitload, no? So there's probably more coming, yay
Alas, a cookie-cutter Ubilike world brimming with generic quests, press-a-button-to-awesome mehlee-only combat, and 202X-level "writing" is more than enough to form a winning combo in today's gaming environment where the concept of quality has been slowly but steadily degrading to the point that it barely even exists anymore.
Battles with zombies and hostile humans will become even tougher. The developers will make massive changes in physics model of Dying Light 2, adding more realism and texture.
Also, with the release of this update, Dying Light 2 will feature a transmogrification option that will allow you to change the appearance of any piece of clothing or armor.
Techland is going all out to make its night experience even scarier.
It's next update promises to deliver to player a new night experience, cranking up the intensity for any of those that step foot into the city in the dark.
"Our next update, planned for early summer, is focused exactly on this - we’re ramping up our night experience, making it even scarier. We hope to create a tense experience that will make our players “shit their pants”. We plan to pull all the stops - gameplay mechanics, visual tricks, audio scares.
