iso is no good for non-cracked...

and you need get rid of ide drives (take power out)

ISO wont even work if you take out the power from your drives, as its been mentioned many times isos contain only files, no protection...

He didn't say it would work with iso, he just stated that it he would also need to take the power out of the IDE drivers, in addition to having a good image.

is it possible to play the latest starforce games (x3, king kong, ufo) by not using sfn and only removing the IDE cables and using Daemon tools 4? SFN doesnt work on my windows :/

with x3, ufo king kong u NEED to physically unplug your drives... noone can use sfnightmare with starforce 3.5 and newer

No you don't.

Dude, Selt knows what he is talking about. Sfnightmare doesn't work with sf3.5 and higher.
You can run sf 3.5+ games without unplugging yes but not with sfnightmare.

Who say "blacklisted"?
Some stupid ppl say this. Blacklisted = not run from image, when image mounted in DT4. But: when disable any ide ore usb cd(dvd) divece in system its run.
read this (from last release Stubbs The Zombie):
Use Starfucker (included) and click on either primary or
secondary all_cd_agressive.' A message will pop up
"nur dann ok anclicken, wenn zu ende gespielt!" That translates to,
click 'ok' when u have finished playing. So, Don't click OK if you want to play.

And no to need any tool to run game from dt 4.0. Only disable other divice. And after that: WHO say "BLACKLISTED"?

No it wasnt. SCSI drives were blacklisted tho. You need to hide/unplug IDE drives and latest Securom games work fine with DT4

Not sure what's going on here... I'm running DT4, but I still need to use SD4hide to run Civ IV. I also have A120 1.9.5.3105 installed, but its virtual drive is turned off. Is something awry?

i did the reg trick with deamon tools v4 where you have to go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > MountedDevices.

and i renamed the 4 cd-rom drives of deamon tools, but every time i restart the PC, the old 4 cd-rom drives are back with the old name (\DosDevices\).

The new one are there 2 but deamon tools doesnt use them. deamon only uses the old ones. so every time i restart the pc i have to do the registry trick again (rename the cd-rom drives of deamon tools)

does anyone know how i can solve this problem so that deamon tools doesnt bring the cd-rom drives back with the \DosDevices\ name?

P.S. to Bitching:

matrix works patched, i play it patched with only mounting it in deamon tools and with the registry trick.

I have the same problem. When I rename my Virtual drive to G.hidden: it stays like that untill next reboot, after that there are G.hidden: and G: in registry...

@romul22 -- How did u make it changing name for Device to stay permanent ???

Anyone have an idea how to resolve this ?

ragnar156 - the USB trick is not to mount the image from a DVD inside your USB DVD drive. The USB trick is to burn that image with RMPS emulation and then put it in your USB drive as if it was the original. I, for one, am not able even to start a SF game if the USB drive is conected, so my method is to have my USB drive disconected and conect it only when I burn/read DVDs. Starforce will fail disk check if it finds out another driver other than SCSI drives. The USB trick speculates a weakness in the SF system that doesn't allow it to properly read the media, but you need to have a burned image onto the DVD and not an image file.

Okay, there must be something to this whole deal of DT4 + nForce3/4-based motherboards = starforce-cheater....

so far, the people that replied to my questions about which motherboard they had (those that didn't need any extra stuff to run starforce clones) all had nforce-based boards.

I'm one of those that can play starforce game with just mounting them in dt4... no disconnecting or sfnightmare etc. etc.

Special note for nForce 3/4 users

The IDE controller that is used on nForce 3/4-based motherboards cannot be directly addressed by today's copy protections; as a result, SCSI blacklists don't work on those systems. If you are fortunate enough to have an nForce 3/4-based system, you should be able to run all the latest SafeDisc-, SecuROM- and StarForce-protected games with your IDE CD/DVD drives plugged in and working.

Only DT Pro will have an IDE Jammer, and forget about trying to get an illegal version of DT Pro, as its rumoured to be harder to break that SF. Twisted Evil

Edit : Sorry should read first, no news of virtual IDE function, as usual DT devs are keeping everything very hush hush.
