Can't blame her, getting paid $6 million a year to be CEO of the company. You sort of go in assuming they will be blowing smoke up your ass about the company they head. It's what every CEO does. it's not right, or true...but it's part of their job. Never expect a CEO to be completely honest about how bad a company is doing...sort of a common sense thing to know will never happen.
Anytime a CEO is talking about the company paying their salary. Just listen to them with the charlie brown teacher voice sound of just horn "wah wah wah" sounds, as whatever they say is not important or meaningful.
I mean pay me $6 million a year I will get on stage and say Twitter/X is the best damn website ever made by anyone ever. And is by far the one everyone should use, and any flaws it has are minor and will be looked into. And that Twitter/X can only go up from here to be the most valuable company to ever exist by a magnitude of 100x. (I'm CEO that's what they pay me to do. pump up stock value and shareholder confidence by bullshitting and appearance of leadership).
Pay me $7 million I was say it cures cancer, makes your dick bigger, and women cannot resist sex with a man that tweets at least once a day.
I guess what I am saying, if you want to hear the truth about a company. Don't listen to people paid by that company who's job is to fluff up the value of the company....What she did her was pretty much spot on for what a new CEO will do for the people paying them to do it.

Additionally, try watching American Auto if you want to see a dramatisation of a shitty new CEO doing shitty new CEO stuff.
Fuck Elon Musk and fuck Twitter. I cannot wait for the day that they make it subscription only and put the final nail in their shitheap.

I'm with you Horror. its went way down hill.
And to me it never made it far up the hill to start with. Was a site 90% of it was used for people to "main character syndrome" and assume the world cares about their tiny random thoughts or stances, then argue with other people but want to do it in front of the world so they have some of those people be an audience to cheer them on.

But he's never lied about twitter stocks, shares or to the shareholders. [That I am aware of]
He's just made very dumb decisions in running it. At this point it could go to $0 value outside of debt ratio, and he still is not criminally liable for it. Running a business into the ground isnt a crime.
Even stating 'the stocks are doing fine' is ambiguous enough not to be criminal. Because 'fine' is not a number. Its a conclusion of self assessment that has no objective meaning. Fine means 'nothing'. It can mean 2x what they was, or 1/2 but stable, or at $1 and thats '...fine'. Claiming 'fine' is not a financial statement of value.
He's done nothing criminal in twitter to do with stock assets or valuation. he's just done incredibly inept things running of it. Being dumb isnt a crime.
Now tesla stocks and his 2018 statement of secured funds might be manipulation. But that is not anything to do with twitter. Only possible federal offense he committed at twitter was the mass layoffs the FTC is looking into. But that's not financially linked in anyway.
I'm not defending him BTW, I think he is the biggest mega-greedy egotistical douche edgelord to exist. But just clarifying twitter crashing and burning isnt a crime or conviction worthy. It's just bad owner ruining a business.

He had to do something as it was losing money, but forced signups killed the platform entirely imo.
Then renaming it X and the other crap was just nail-gunning the lid shut.

https://reclaimthenet.org/democrats-ignore-the-first-amendment-with-censorship-demand-letter-to-x
https://docs.reclaimthenet.org/elon-musk-censorship-demand-letter.pdf
Quote: | A group of over 25 Democratic members of Congress have raised allegations against X, once again ignoring the First Amendment and calling for online censorship.
They assert that the company is both allowing and profiting from the dissemination of false and violent content, particularly regarding the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
On Tuesday, these lawmakers, including notable figures such as Reps. Dan Goldman, Jamie Raskin, Jerry Nadler, Bennie Thompson, Katie Porter, and Adam Schiff, addressed a letter to Linda Yaccarino, CEO of X, and Elon Musk, its owner.
They expressed concern over X’s alleged negligence in enforcing its policies against the spread of misleading information and content promoting violence, hate, and terrorism.
The letter specifically points out the drastic reduction in X’s content moderation staff over the past year, suggesting that the company has deliberately allowed and even benefited from the illegal circulation of terrorist propaganda. This conduct, according to the legislators, is completely inappropriate for a platform as globally influential as X.
Further, the letter highlights reports from the Tech Transparency Project and the Institute for Strategic Dialogue.
“We are demanding that you uphold your public commitments and enforce your policies. Accordingly, no later than December 1, 2023, we request that you provide all forms of written communications, including email, text messages, other messaging services, or X direct messages, relating to content moderation for any posts or accounts associated with, related to, or connected to Hamas,” the letter states.
The lawmakers underscore that X Premium, a subscription service offering features like prioritized ranking in conversations and searches, might be indirectly facilitating the profit from the spread of such content. They note that X gains financially from subscription fees and ad revenue generated from these accounts.
Elon Musk recently declared that all X revenue from ads and subscriptions on content regarding the conflict will be donated to charities in the impacted region.
Additionally, the letter accuses X of profiting from subscribers who spread false and misleading narratives about the Israel-Hamas war.
Further, this month, Representatives Josh Gottheimer, a Democrat from New Jersey, and Don Bacon, a Republican from Nebraska, introduced a bill aimed at countering the uptick of alleged false information disseminated on TikTok and other online platforms amid the recent Israel-Hamas conflict.
Gottheimer clarified during a media briefing, “This legislation will require social media companies to release detailed reports of violations to their terms and services and how they’re addressing these violations, which includes using their platforms for terrorist purposes…It also requires the intelligence community to provide a threat assessment about what’s happening on social media.”
The proposed law, titled the Stopping Terrorists Online Presence and Holding Accountable Tech Entities Act or the Stop Hate Act, incorporates a $5 million daily penalty for any social media enterprise non-compliant with the proposed bill’s conditions. The act is vocally supported by the ADL.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul signed similar legislation in 2022, only to have a judge denounce it as a violation of the First Amendment. |

I thought he was for free speech, and removing post (false or not) was wrong?
Is it only wrong when it's not post against him?

Ah ok I see.. I think (Sorry for the ignorance I don't know shit about twitter).
They are like the footnotes twitter can add to give context to such on posts that the staff can do: The boxes under post about like "This information is inaccurate..blah blah". But anyone can do them. And someone did it to him, and he said they are gaming/abusing it?

I was thinking and talking to a friend about this situation.
Elon doesn't seem to really want Twitter/X really. He didn't even really want it to start with when we wanted to back out. Sure he might like the power, and feeling of owning the world's main SM feed. But I feel it's a begrudgingly enjoyed effect:I didn't really want it, but since I have it the perks are OK.
Why doesn't he just sell it? Sure he will lose LOTS of money on the sale due to valuation at purchase vs now. And people will: Lawl you lost 44 BILLION dollars! But I dont think people relate that to the total. in a vacuum its a LOT. even from his total its a good chunk, but not like it would hurt him.
At least if it was me I would just sell it off, at whatever loss and when people go:
- LOL you lost 44 billion!
tweet back:
- You got me, I only have 201 Billion left. Im ruined, time for ramen and water.
My take on it anyway if it was me. I would just give it away, and STILL have enough money to spend 10 MILLION a day for 50 years and not be broke (thats only 182 billion)
I say there should be a limit on wealth [side tangent]. Once you get say, 1 billion we go: Congratulation, you won the game of life. Games over. Please exit the stage and let other contestants take a turn, thanks for playing.
