Nah mang, portal beam is the true Ez mode. Especially useful when you are focusing on dodging bullets and it just melts everything for you with no need to aim.
249 SEK (~25 euro) right now (Spel och Sånt in Sweden).. decent price. Bought.
This isn't a game where you can save anywhere i hope?
I'm hoping for a somewhat similar experience to alien vs predator before the lame save-anywhere patch (requested by basically all PC players lol...), just more combat and boss-fight focused but still with good atmosphere.
It's a pretty addicting game especially if you like bullet hells. The weapons and traits you unlock for them are very well designed. You might think one weapon is garbage till you spend some time with it and unlock a trait that completely transforms it--rocket launcher with full auto for example.
Difficulty is all over the place, it spikes up quite a bit after the third biome but nothing wrong with that necessarily. You can now suspend and resume your run but from the first 3 levels you restart every time you die, though there are shortcuts to the later levels you can take (for example you can explore the first level and get upgrades or just go straight to level 3 if you want)
The endless mode is fun but meh, played it till i got the 2 different ending cinematics and stopped.
Atmosphere is fantastic and gets better and better and the fragmented story is paced very well... music is amazing too.
I had a hard time at first but once it clicked the game is pretty amazing.
Broke my R2 too

played some before going to sleep last night. first impressions are rather good. really great controls, adaptive triggering feels great, atmospheric graphics. what i don't like so far is the feel of the level design, i wish it was more linear actually. not sure the level randomization will really add something or just make it more tedious, im also not sure how much randomization there is.
Fuck this game. Beat the first biome without any problems on the first try, but now i'm not making any progress... whatsoever. Some unlucky crapspawns murdering my butt far into the second area and NOTHING gets saved. What a waste of time. Should keep something just so you don't feel like you're wasting your time completely.

I had the same experience but once it clicked, it got super enjoyable and I loved it. I then finished it no problem few times.
Rotgland lobber ftw

Gets easier the farther you go, the weapons get much better. I die way more often on biome 2 than say biome 4 or 5 especially after they nerfed some of the later enemies.
Are you upgrading your health? Usually have enough obelites to get the +25% hp upgrade in the first biome iirc.
well i did get that upgrade, but my curiosity during biome 2 usually kills me. Dumbass teleporting zealots and getting trapped in a room with a giant cube thing.
