Well my PS3 has been dead since the demo launch of Beyond (it was Beyond that killed it.. damn it Aiden!) so I never got a chance to play through it completely. But yeah, I see your point and I can also understand the point of PS4 owners who are getting tired of remasters and want to see more unique titles.

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2015/11/19/beyond-two-souls-releases-digitally-on-ps4-26th-november/
Quote: | The PS4 edition of the game features a number of improvements:
* Enhanced 1080p graphics including motion blur, bloom and depth of field effects, as well as improved lighting and shadows.
* The game also makes use of the DualShock 4 speaker to improve immersion when playing as the Entity.
* Decisions are highlighted at the end of each scene and compared with those made by other players.
* You can now play the game in chronological order right from the start – a much requested feature in the PS3 version!
* Increased difficulty in a number of fight scenes, combined with improved controls for action sequences.
* Includes the “Enhanced Experiments” DLC in the base game.
You will be able to buy the digital copy of Beyond: Two Souls for €29.99/£24.99 on 26th November. Take a look at the trailer above to get you in the mood.
We can also now confirm that The Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls Collection, announced in June this year, will be available to buy at retail from 2nd March 2016 (or 4th March in the UK).
There’s no need to wait for the collection to start playing though. Those who purchase Beyond: Two Souls digitally will be entitled to download Heavy Rain on PlayStation 4 when it releases at a discount – ensuring that you don’t pay more for the two games separately than you would for the Collection. |
May the NFOrce be with you always.

It's hard to say if it's voluntary (like the black bars on PS3 and that are still on PS4, even though they could be disabled with a tweak without affecting performances) to maintain the "cinematic experience" that Quantic Dream tries to achieve, or a PS4 limitation.
I guess we will never know.
I pirated it on PS3, I'll happily buy it on PS4.

Uncharted and Last of Us remakes touted their framerate bumps because they're important, that announcement is missing here, which can only mean it doesn't exist. |
It should, in all likelihood, run at 60 frames on the Playstation 4. I don't think any current remaster of Sony's titles have been capped at 30. I doubt Quantic Dreams would screw up on this aspect. If they do, then it would really be a dick move. Even after having completed this game day one, I really want to play it again.
They plan to release the retail for Heavy Rain and this game in March 2016 apparently. So might pick it up if the price is right.

You're missing the point. Every other remaster has *specifically* stated 1080p60. It has been an enormous selling point. This announcement doesn't. It doesn't mention framerate at all, and the only reason for that is because it hasn't changed.

I agree. I doubt it changed either. Considering the type of game, it's possible as I said up above (but you probably ignored me anyway) that they don't want you to play their games at 60fps.
Just like they didn't (and still don't) want you to play Beyond without black bars.

Agreed. Though, it's best to hold out till the game is out to see the final state. I know it's wishful thinking but they need to have some logical reason if they chose to stick with the 30fps lock.

Probably cinematic.
Just like the black bars. What do you think they used them for ? It's been proven they don't affect performances at all, because you can disable them on PS3 editing a file and that didn't affect performances at all (although it did unhide Ellen Page tits & ass).

I'll wait for the retail version, since it'll also have the game I liked more - but it's pretty much a day 1 purchase for me.

Cool. I'm a bit tempted but finished it on PS3. Is it letterboxed on PS4?

One thing that comes to my mind watching this (aside from the remaster not being all that impressive, tbh) is a reminder of how fucking impossible it was for that game to even run on the ps3 in the first place. Like, at all. I can't wait to see what QD will do with that dedicated PS4 title.

The PS4 version is a big disappointment to me.
I guess it's not running in 1920x1080 because it's still aliased (or at least it doesn't use any anti aliasing). Sure it's less aliased than on PS3 but it's a disappointment.
Also sometimes it manages somehow to drop under 30 fps (rare but it does).
If you already have a PS3 with this game, it's not worth the $30 honestly. There is barely any difference.
Not sure what I expected though...

Thanks for that! Finished it on PS3 but no longer have a PS3. If the black bars had been removed I would consider but Ima instaskipping!
