Completed this game today and I'm very very happy with it!
Easily one of my favourite games on PS3!
The story and characters were great with an epic conclusion and nice closure.
There's not a lot of normal gameplay of course but it was what I expected, an interactive movie mostly (though there were some parts with more involved gameplay), and an awesome one at that.
The graphics are the best I've seen on PS3 and oh god the faces are photorealistic at times.
Better than anything I've ever seen in a game, and that includes PC and PS4.
LA Noir has nothing on this.
Animations are top notch as well with some really exciting fight scenes and of course voice acting and music are outstanding.
Highly recommended to anyone who isn't put off by the lack of conventional gameplay.
I don't understand why a game like this just has 72% or something on metacritic when the walking dead is kinda similar (just talking, decisions and quicktime events for the most part) and reaps tons of rewards.
I can't wait for Quantic Dream's PS4 project after seeing what they accomplished here.

Only hardcore gamers understand Quantic dream I guess. Their games aren't derpy enough to please cod fans.
I agree with you that the graphics are incredible, even when compared to PC or ps4 games. Their upcoming ps4 engine looks even more amazing though
Maybe for the nomad soul 2?

Just finished this one. I don't think it was as good as Heavy Rain but it was pretty kick ass nevertheless and I have a soft spot for Ellen Page which makes this game 10/10.
I did had some small freezes(1-3seconds) here and there, especially during some cinematics, but nothing major.
Would buy/play again on PS4.
Now, onto Valkyria Chronicles.

I know I'm gonna get mocked a la KC but since both games are similar to movies, wouldn't it be weird having them running at 60 fps instead of 30 fps ? Just like it feels weird watching movies on samsung tv with that movie+ effect...

There are gameplay elements, action gameplay sequences and it's like a 3rd person game (1st person also in Beyond). It's like playing Dreamfall with 30fps which ofc isn't a pleasant experience.

So, got my mates PS3, and Beyond is the very first game, that I finished on a derpsole.
6/10. Was a pretty OK thing, for a movie experience, wasn't much game in it, tbh. And by the end, the childhood memories became pretty tedious.
I left the better game for last, and am now starting Heavy Rain.
Thus far, Omikron is still Quantic's best piece of work.

Beyond probably has a wider range of potential buyers because of Dafoe and Page.There are also more action sequences in Beyond and the story isn't so depressing as HR's. HR has the melancholia feel all over from the beginning.

Both games are amazing. As a huge fan of indie movies imo these 2 games (and Fahrenheit ofc) have great cinematography, character development and strong plot. Beyond's structure could be better though.

I`ve played both Heavy Rain and Fahrenheit, and beyond doesnt even compare to them. Its like decent cinematic crime/scfi games vs girl-with-superpowers teenage semi-interactive summer movie.
