Can i dualboot win7 just fine if i install it now on another disk?
Or do i need to mess around with the bootmanager to get win8 back? (as this was before the case with installing XP next to win7, always had to do win7 last otherwise it was a big hassle to get back in your win7 after installing xp)

As far as I remember, 7 and 8 share the same bootloader, so I don't think there should be issues. At most, you may need to restore the 8 boot loader after installing 7, by booting with 8 restore disk and running one command line call.

idk if they do, because certainly the looks are different, but don't know if they just added a proper UI element to the win8 version of the bootmanager (because the win7 is just dos look, while win8 one has the "sleek" blue one with mouse and extra options)

Could be, but certainly the boot process has not changed. So if the "DOS"-y look doesn't bother you, it will work fine.

Before you start, make sure you have a recovery boot disk or USB, just in case. If there are problems, you can PM me or email me directly to recover quickly.

Agreed, it's better than W7 when you put the start menu back and disable all the metro junk.

I think I'll keep a copy of that for myself, thanks Newty! It's a shame it's a webinstaller though, rather than downloading the entire batch of selected apps for an offline install.. but seriously, that thing looks incredible. It's only missing a handful of apps I usually use too.

Someone else actually posted it here a while back, so that's how I heard about it.

You could always create your own unattended installer though

But then you need to keep updating it.

Yeah but that will be the case anyway if you want an offline installer like that.
Tho i found this for Ninite: https://ninite.com/help/features/offline.html
Seems that with the pro version you can have those offline installers, testing it now if it's truly offline.

Personally, i would keep it at 50-60GB, but that's the VERY least that i think an OS drive should have (because of temp files and other random shit that put itself on the OS drive).
Just pure OS and nothing at all, you would need about 20-25GB.. But i wouldn't do that

I like at least 80GB for the main OS. I use my 120GB SSD but space can quickly go down. If I want to use Hibernation then that is 16GB right there with my RAM.

I've always kept my OS partitions at 65GB, which leaves more than enough space for cache/temp files as well as the day-to-day standard programs I use. I don't have any creativity suites though, so yeah.. nothing really major taking up space. Since getting my SSD I've just left it all as 111GB (usable) as it gives around 70GB to play around with for heavy SSD-utilising games.

Can anyone recommend me a software to get the clock on my second monitor? Switching taskbars or primary screens when i watch tv or movies is too much of a hassle. I'd rather have the clock on both screens at all times.
