Drake doesn’t ever take bullet damage. The red UI that shows ‘hits’ is to represent his ‘luck’ running out. Eventually enemies will get a clear shot and kill him if he takes enough near-misses.

Finally got around and played it this weekend right after The Last of Us. I've spoiled both games years ago but these were much better playing than I was expecting them to be!
I was not a fan of uc123. I kinda liked 3 but and characters in 2 but these games were fuckers to play. I might want to give remaster trilogy a try now again since I've played originals on ps3.
UC4 is probably still the best looking games. The graphics (especially ending epilogue) are just fantastic. The picture quality is stunning and makes me doubt why the hell are we even going for 4k if 1080p can look this clean. It's like a post card.
Midway through the game I've enabled lock on. Not that I had trouble playing with it disabled but lock on allowed for pretty cool mid air kills, running and gunning and generally a funnier spectacle. I was not looking for a challenge anyway. The game difficulty is way better balanced than 2 was anyway. Seriously, it was like 1200 dead people a the end of uc2... and encounters were tedious as hell if I remember it right.
Overall, I really liked it and even though it was a biiiit boring at parts, it was still a spectacle and the ending made me feel good. The Last of us is still generally a better game I think.

I did in january. Its almost exactly the same but with less interesting characters and annoying open world part "your princess is in another castle" which makes You drive around like an idiot. There was less obnoxious climbing and filler though.
But it plays exactly the same and has some nice locations.

@cyclonefr: Is the short gameplay worth 20 bucks? It's 50% off on PS store now.
Yes it is.
Interinactive : did you play UC3 when it released or years later ? I suspect that playing these games years after their release make them shitty.
I loved UC3, except the castle part which was shit. But the plane crash, the desert chase riding the horse were amazing... I still think the plane crash is one of my favorite scene, even if you barely play.
I liked that after the crash it unzooms and show you a view of the desert. Sadly you just have to keep pressing forward, no challenge.
I was so sick of the climbing and jumping elements by the end of 3 that I never want to touch one again.
1 - 3 are shite. 1 was good for its time but 2 and 3 were a drag (I didn't manage to finish either of them). 4 is excellent though.
I've only played them on ps3 and not enjoyed my time except uc3. climbing, shooting, climbing, shooting, shooting, shooting... It would be fine if shooting was any good.
In UC4, climbing was also tiresome and there was some bad pacing in the game but afterall it was indeed good.
@Mister - Lost Legacy is like a mix between UC3 and UC4 but characters were not so great. It is still a very high polish 3rd person game with incredible graphics.

The main bad guy and final fight in uc4 was really bad. But I enjoyed most of the story. Drake, Sully, Elena and everyone was so adorable!
There was nothing wrong with Lost Legacy at all but also almost nothing interesting. The bad guy is yet another military guy but his fight was indeed MUCH better than uc4.
LL is worth playing for graphics and budget alone. We don't get a lot of good single player games. Especially this good looking. Sure, it's linear and there is plenty of gameplay interruptions... and that gameplay is a lot of shooting and climbing. But that goes for all UC games. Everyone knows if they like these games or not.
It's like Indiana Jones - You cannot just say that he is looking for treasure and killing nazis even thought that is all it is.

One of the best looking scenes ever made in games is the Uncharted 4 chase scene where you are on the motorbike and shooting the armored car, jesus the effects and physics are insane, even better if you have big TV and good speakers.
Yep, that one was the big setpiece of this generation, nothing else comes even close.
It helps that the music in Uncharted games is also very good and has this majestic Indiana Jones style.
Replaying this on PS5 (i got to chapter 5 only on PS4) and liking it a lot more. I'm even kind of enjoying the climbing, which i didn't the last time (and yeah the game is like 50% climbing so you better enjoy it). I like the PS5 controller a lot more so it has probably helped + getting better framerates is also good for fast action games like this.
I'm on chapter 13 and i must say the levels has improved a lot.
The graphics is almost too good to be true at times, only the animations are sometimes really, really bad. But it's mostly when jumping and grabbing, its very poorly done and takes me out of the otherwise stellar immersion.
Finished. It was pretty great. The ending was a bore +predictable (which can be said for the rest too i guess). Some of it made very little to no sense at all, pretty baffling how poorly some of it is written even.
The jungle / pirate set pieces are totally incredible, jaw dropping to me (but i'm an immense fan of that setting, all the greenery/flora). 3D assets are unprecedented, never seen anything like it. It's like one house can have more 3D assets (and also top class) than many modern games has as a whole.
Some of the cheesy action scenes are very fun, impossible to not have a giant grin on your face playing through some of those.
Gameplay overall isn't anything to write home about, what they have managed is to instead balance it rather nicely to not piss you off or bore you completely. I'll give it a 9/10 as a whole, it has its shortcomings but they rarely annoy. I'll replay this one..
Never played any of the others because they didn't look like games i would enjoy, i was probably wrong about that..
Gonna give TLoU II a shot again (third time). There are things that pisses me off a lot with that whole debacle, but i think i'll have to push through, i can't deny they do some pretty great things too, no thanks to Cuckmann, it's the entire art team i'm a fan of, also the voice acting is stellar (which makes up at least a little for some of the poor writing)
