After playing Battlefield 5 for a bit I would not care if this news is what ends up causing the series to die after what will likely be another failure in the next game. Out of the full series, thinking back the original Vietnam on PC, 2142 and the Bad Company series was probably the best of the bunch for me so if the rumors are true of the next one being Bad Company 3 then hopefully it is more story focused and we don't get BR mode, Survival Mode, and whatever other random new game type that becomes the next big thing like Autochess added to the game when it is not needed.
The move never made any sense in the first place. Even with Valve's 30% cut, they are still likely to make more money in the long run selling stuff on Steam just through the sheer inertia of the platform.
Valve probably gave them a better deal now anyway, anything to fight Epic.
The move back then made sense, especially from a big publishers perspective like EA's, when it comes to making sure Steam doesn't turn into a giant unstoppable monopoly.
And Epic really showed how great some good old competition is. Valve suddenly was open to negotiations and now we got Microsoft Games coming out on Steam and EA seems to be back in the fold as well. And all with likely better deals for the respective companies.
This would only interest me if they did something like GOG where I could get Steam keys for the Origin games that get added or re-added back to Steam for those that were previously delisted.
I thought steam was pledging to get rid of low quality, lazy shit games and not the other way around, dafuq?
It’s probably gonna be some easy money for them with all EA’s yearly copy-pastas with huge marketing budgets. Rather them instead of never heard indie crap.

Like its counterparts on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and on Origin, EA Access on Steam will give subscribers access to a slate of the publisher's titles. But there's a snag, as a game needs to be on Steam in the first place for EA Access on Steam to let subscribers play it, and EA's output for the most of the last decade is not yet on the storefront. The publisher is working to rectify that, and has confirmed The Sims 4 and Unravel 2 will arrive on Steam "in the coming months," with titles like Apex Legends, FIFA 20, and Battlefield V set to debut next year.

So with more players playing more games and more platforms, frankly, we want to be where the players are.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
While EA Access on Steam will give players yet another option in terms of gaming subscription services, Blank sees it as part of a bid to ultimately reduce fragmentation on that front.
"Since the time we removed our games from Steam, there's been this dramatic increase in the number of gaming services, which you would think would be really good for players. But I think in many cases, it's the exact opposite. It creates more difficulty for players, and providing player choice -- from my perspective and speaking on behalf of EA -- is really critical. It's an opportunity to make it possible for people to play where they want, to reduce that fragmentation and make it more frictionless... Reducing that fragmentation is really important. It's the most player-first thing we can do."
btw, i wonder why EA didnt partenered with epicshitstore for this
Epic Store probably would not agree to having a Subscription service for another company run through them but I bet Epic did contact EA about just adding their upcoming game releases.
