I will post it here for posterity cause it may get deleted
Spoiler:
This mod is probably the worst insult to the Deus Ex franchise yet. The level design is overdone with architecture that looks like a con artist gypsy architect went bat ♥♥♥♥ crazy with some government grant to redo all of the buildings. It is new age crap that looks so over-decorated with gimmicky glass displays and pointless archs everywhere that are all so out of place that you can't help but think that someone had to have been on PCP while making the maps.
The textures are so so, and that's only beacuse HDTP has been around awhile. To tell you the truth it's a modest improvement on the look of the game but I still prefer the original textures. But of course HDTP has nothign to do with this mod. That's something you can download separately.
The lighting in this game is atrocious. I can't believe there is literally a over-detailed round bulb "I'm in a better economic class than you" lights around every corner which completely destroys any chance you have of hiding in the shadows. The electricity bill for Paris must be in the billions per hour...
The music sounds like i'm being forced to eat my own crap while being told it's sexy. It's so weak, powerless and pussified with the softest of ♥♥♥♥♥ tones and lack of percussion I just want to take a few blocks out of my trenchcoat inventory for the vomit I wish to store there to avoid embarassment. I just imagine a castrated white suburbanite male who tries so desperately to get the attention of females that he will basically become a homosexual just to seem like Mr. Popular and Mr. In-crowd listening to this music in his Honda Civic while masturbating to gay porn magazines.
The models look like monkeys in the face, especially JC Denton/walton simons/Paul Denton, which are basically the same character model. They look ridiculous. As a matter of fact they look more like Napoleon dynamite.
Then there is the enemy interaction. Because the cities in the game obviously do not mind footing the million-dollar-per-hour utility bill, again, there is nowhere to hide and the enemies are often positioned in such a way you can't avoid getting into a fight. This just plain sucks...
And to top it off, it's DRM content. When I can just use new vision and HDTP with standard deus ex and it looks 10x better.
Ok, now onto some good news. The shifter mod for the ORIGINAL deus ex is really good you should try it. I have a certain version of it that allows you to vault/mount ledges like you would in the old Thief games. You can also switch off your cloak and armor vests to save their charges for later which is really a lifesaver in my opinion. Oh, but of course that doesn't have anything to do with DX:R.. but had to talk about something that doesn't make me feel ill.

Played both, GMDX is the ultimate deus ex experience, revision is something made by people who have no concept of game design. I finished it and at times it does have some nice visuals, but that's about it. Mechanically it's worse than the vanilla game: you're forced into combat situations due to retarded level changes and their concept of improving AI is giving them a 2 mile 360* awareness field around them.
I think I'll sign up for the beta of GMDX 9.0, 8.0 was just soooo goood!
Too bad it's being pushed as an "update" on GOG. It's not like there will be many new people introduced to the game, but those that will be might be dissappointed.

I completed GMDX a few months ago (around christmas) and loved it. It had been a few years since I had last completed the game and the changes aren't quite that obvious until you put the games side by side which is when it becomes obvious how many things GMDX improved. Some map changes aren't 100% perfect but in general, they were made to give every possible approach the same amount of challenge. Whether this is a good thing is to be debated...
Haha yep, I was about to post about that. The delay isn't a problem, though the fact that the guy who was designing the new weapon models had to leave is a shame, there were some neat additions/replacements to make the Dentoning around feel fresher. Oh well
Perhaps we would have had a small glimmer of hope with the Human Revolution/Mankind Divided team, but Squeenix's greedy practices and the decision to scrap Deus Ex in favour of the bloody Avengers has nullified everything. What a rotten way to die.
Thankfully there are mods like the GMDX which bring tons of gameplay and AI-related improvements to the vanilla game whilst keeping the fantastic original experience intact, Timeless Ex
The Nameless Mod Mission 20 update is the first of three patches to update TNM to version 2.0. This patch is designed to update all maps in Mission 20, and any revisited maps found in Mission 22. Be advised that you may experience some bugs or weirdness. If you would like the full TNM 2.0 experience, wait until all three patches are completed.

It's currently pretty broken, but it is playable (Yes, I've checked it myself). Uses vanilla DX maps.
It's a port of DX to Unreal 2.5 engine. 2.5 was chosen because it allows for easy porting of most of Unreal 1 assets, scripts, etc, with most things working out of the box. Since it uses UT2004 engine you either need the game, or a serial in your registry.
