Who cares, now that Alcohol was updated.
What improvements do you expect, anyway ?

is there is "cracked" DT Pro that works fine?
I grabbed one with a shitty loader that set a virtual date, it didn't work very well : (
with more & more games switching to activation, the future of DT is dark, but it's still a good product that served us well for years....
and for now there are still quite many titles using disc check... and it's useful for SolidShield games that aren't getting cracked properly but only emulated!

WHy do people still use Daemon Tools? I have no purpose for it whatsoever. Also, Alcohol is useless to me too. I use UltraISO and ImgBurn/Nero in its place.

True, as of lately with online activation and most stuff requiring no actual disc the use of Daemon Tools have dimnished a bit, I mainly use it (Along with Winrar.) to unpack the image files and install it that way, faster than running it as a virtual disc drive and I can remove extra stuff like the DirectX, VC++ and similar redists as well to prevent them being installed again or overwriting newer installed versions.
(And as you somewhat mentioned for burning discs there are better alternatives.)

Yeah, well, I only use Alcohol to mount stuff and that's that. I never even run the program itself, I mount/unmount from context menu, seamless.
Anti--protection virtual drive age is over, it seems.

I stopped using Alcohol prob about 2 years now. Used to be the best to burn and mount. But now its obsolete.

Isn't DT-Lite the better version though? If memory serves, DT-L has better support for emulating copy protections via Clone disks.
