Haven't played Witcher 3 in about 6 months. Reinstalled it last night with a 17gb patch to update to 1.12. And preloaded Blood and Wine which was a whopping 14gb! I forgot how awesome the game is and the framerate seems to be vastly improved from what I remember. Finally fixed the broken Skellige's Most Wanted quest and finally finished the last contract! Im so hyped to play the final DLC now though! Tomorrow night! Very Happy

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt – Blood & Wine Expansion

Description:

Blood and Wine is the final expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — an award-winning role-playing game set in a vast fantasy open world.
Become professional monster slayer Geralt of Rivia and explore Toussaint, a remote land untouched by war, where you will unravel the horrifying secret behind a beast terrorizing the kingdom. With all trails leading to dead ends, only a witcher can solve the mystery and survive the evil lurking in the night. Introducing an entirely new realm to traverse, new characters and monsters, Blood and Wine is a 20+ hour adventure full of dark deeds, unexpected twists, romance and deceit.

Features:

Explore an entirely new part of The Witcher’s vast open world — the land of wine, Toussaint

* Embark on over 30 hours of new adventures and discover a land unlike anything you’ve seen in Wild Hunt or Hearts of Stone.
* Visit new points of interest and set out on new side-quests in a realm rivalling No Man’s Land or Novigrad in size.
* Kick back and relax in your very own vineyard, a real home away from home.

Hunt down an elusive beast terrorizing the kingdom

* Unravel the mystery of the strange killings — investigate a series of brutal murders and decipher the pattern to predict who’s going to die next.
* Discover the dirty secrets of Toussaint’s capital, Beauclair — explore the city by day, ask questions by night.
* Use new gear, items, and combine them with your skill to slay monsters never before seen in the series.

Embark on your final quest in a world still brimming with things to do

* Visit a world of fairytales gone wrong and battle surreal creatures you know from children’s tales and books.
* Dye witcher armors in different colors thanks to an all-new game mechanic.
* Take on knights in a grand tourney to show your true fighting skill, or set out to discover the gruesome mystery behind a spoon-collecting creature known as a wight.
* Team up with powerful allies to take down the beast terrorizing the kingdom, or turn a blind eye to what’s going on and play Gwent with an all-new Skellige deck.

Framerate is obviously locked to 30fps and excellent on PS4 but then I didnt expect anything less. The video also confirms some graphical improvements when compared to the PC version but thats expected and to be honest quite minor given that it mainly enhances visuals in the distance and on the horizon.

Absolutely significant HS! Razz

I slaughtered everything with Euphoria activated. My DPS increased to crazy levels. I completed everything as well. Will probably start NG+ later.

A friend of mine has told me this mutations screen is new as of Blood & Wine! So I don't feel too bad and I guess if you don't have Blood & Wine you don't get the mutations? I could be wrong ...

That's correct. I was introduced only in Blood & Wine DLC and can only be obtained by completing the relevant quest which would allow you to utilize the mutation system.

I finished Blood & Wine! It was truly epic considering it was only DLC. They could very easily have packaged it up as a standalone game and released it as a retail title. I completed all quests, sidequests, explored everywhere, completed all contracts and treasure hunts. With one exception. Gwent. I just couldnt get into it which a shame because there were a handful of quests I didnt complete lol.

CD Projekt Red has done an incredible job improving the game with patches and updates, providing support and showing appreciation to all those that bought it. The Witcher 3 including its 2 expansions is without a doubt a 10 out of 10 game. It was a shame it ended as I could quite easily play through another expansion! The guy who wrote the books must be so proud and it would make such a good TV show or movie in the right hands!

I guess its gonna be CyberPunk 2077 next but not anytime soon! In the meantime Im just so tempted to start The Witcher 3 New Game+ and make different decisions, even if its just to max out my character who is only level 54 Very Happy

http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2017/11/09/the-xbox-one-x-runs-the-witcher-3-at-60fps-if-you-dont-patch-it

Quote:
When The Witcher 3 launched for the original Xbox One back in 2015, it only ran at 900p (1600 x 900) resolution and had trouble maintaining a stable 30 frames per second. The same unpatched version of the game, running fresh from the disc, hits 60 frames per second more often than not on the Xbox One X.

Ultrawide is kind of overrated imo.. I have a 34" ultrawide monitor, but my new non ultrawide TV will have a wider resolution overall, though obviously also bigger vertically.

Wonder if its worth getting it on PS4 for the HDR.. probably not.

http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2018/04/11/the-witcher-3-hdr-patch-live-now-for-ps4-and-ps4-pro

Quote:
CD Projekt Red announced today that the long awaited HDR Support patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is finally live. According to the studio, the patch not only contains HDR support for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, but also has various stability improvements, bug fixing, and all other manners of improvements. Unfortunately for PlayStation 4 Pro users, it doesn’t seem like the inclusion of 4K support is available just yet, but with HDR now out, it shouldn’t be too long before the 4K mode is added to the game.

* HDR support;
* various performance optimizations;
* stability improvements;
* localization bugfixing;
* minor visual improvements.
