Anyone who owns a Piranha Bytes game on Steam will get this UE4-made playable teaser of a Gothic remake in their Steam library, with the developers basically asking; "Should we continue with a remake? Or leave memories alone?"
Naw, they've gone from "unlisted" to "private" haha! Someone jumped the gun on the announcement But hey... I'm all for a modern visual of lick of paint remake to Gothic <3
I'm a huge Gothic fan but I'd prefer a new Gothic game to a remake.

I mean, all the Gothic/Risen games were bad. Eucrap in the truest sense of the world—full of bugs, meh writing and terrible voice cast, including the infamous "ze deueueuetsh doang a ANGLISCH ACCCSSAAAANT" Another series with similar eucrap was Two Worlds.
Yup, Janky Eurotrash RPGs.. but they had/have so much character and soul, something about them grabs you and they're just genuinely fun to play, despite the.. well.. jank Elex, Two Worlds, Gothic, Ego Draconis <3 <3

For the other Gothic games I'd say sure, but the first Gothic was rather a pain to play due to really annoying controls. It doesn't even need to be remade - just have its controls improved.
