Like I said, so far it seems your prices are slightly below at least Dutch (and thus pretty much all of Western Europe) averages and they've been changing recently. Definitely wait at least a few days (and if you're going to the US, might be worth waiting till then ).
because you make it sound like buying nvidia is some sinister act. also i don't think he should wait. waiting to buy upgrade almost never works out very well. you just keep waiting and waiting for next new thing, for next price drop, for next announcement, and you just end up annoyed and pissed for wasting all that time instead of gaming or whatever on your new rig.
No, buying Nvidia is not a sinister act. Blindly buying Nvidia while completely disregarding AMD just because it's AMD is though and there's plenty people who do that. Often the same people who think Titan is great value for money.
And what, to wait 2 days (as that is when the 290X is likely to go on sale) isn't going to work out? Yeah, that is totally going to hurt. It took less than 24 hours for the announcement of the R200 series to cause shops to massively drop their 79x0 prices.
