I've the Asus ux31a. It's a really nice ultra book. There was an issue with the keyboard but they're since resolved that. The battery life is good as too is the speed/performance. When I looked around, the Samsung had a really flimsy screen which put me off. The Asus feels solid and looks nice.
Would highly recommend
Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz - 32GB Kingston HyperX - Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7 - EVGA GTX 980 TI SC 6GB - Asus ROG Swift PG278Q

I have almost the same doubts as Garus, except that I'm considering the MBPr 13"... I never had a mac, never even considered one, and I like lenovo the best (T series mostly), but for some reason lenovos are really expensive here (and I can get a macbook for a little more than it costs in the US, which means even cheaper than EU).
I don't get the hype around apple products, I don't like their design, and I won't be using their OS (I'll use linux), but the hardware/price on the MBPr 13" seems pretty solid, although giving money to apple is an issue too
Should I buy a macbook pro 13 retina? (and damn, that's a stupid name)

No, you shouldn't. The current "retina" Macbooks are all underpowered, at least they seem that way.

"Even" cheaper? You imply that things are cheap here, they're anything but cheap (basic 13" MBPR is 1785 EUR already, or 2416 USD, nice little $700 difference there - that's not taxes anymore)

Well, the thing is, the MBPR 13 you're talking about costs 3500 USD here that's why I implied it's "cheap" in EU. But I can get it for 1800 USD (from a tax free shop in Paraguay, which is not too far from where I live). The ASUS UX31A is around 1500 USD. Is the macbook worth the extra $300? I want build quality, a good keyboard, nice screen, and I expect it to last for many years.
(the lenovo I'd buy is over 2200 USD, so I can't afford it)
Edit:
UX31A-DH71 I7-1.9/4/256 for 1695USD or
MBP retina 13 i5-2.5/8/128 for 1760USD...

All I know is that I've seen one 13" and two 15" in action in early December and a lot of sites lagged like crazy. That was Chrome as well, so I don't know when they fixed Chrome? The guys are all on the beta channel, idiots that they are, so if it was fixed by then, they had the fix.
