I close the browser quite frequently, and I observe this behavior on both my laptop and desktop (both running SRWare Iron BTW).

Hmmm and by refreshing the forum you mean to hit F5 for no reason? Razz
When I'm checking it more frequently I "refresh it" by clicking on the forum index link... is there any better way around that?

Yeah, cookies are still not 100% good.
Some topics still keep being marked as not read, only after a hour or 2 it looks like the cookies has reset itself and marked the topics as read, but then the story starts from the front again..
