I think people are more worried about the game sections changing. That I leave up to the mods Who mod those forums those forums the most... They can come up with a better way of managing those sections if they wish and ill go along with that. This new rule wasn't new, it was always sort of understood. Now I simply added to the official list.
As I said before I been cleaning editing and deleting stuff in world news for weeks and weeks and noone noticed cause the impact is so small that it really doesn't take away from any discussion or is even noticeable. Only handful of posts ever get to level of needing an edit or deleting.

I'll probably get pitch forked for this but I brought it up a while ago to Mad Max, he was just acting as voice for me up to a certain point to a problem of the mentality of the PC Games section that's gone downhill.
The whole point of what I complained about is the said derailing and the stupid emoticons and the constant use of memes. It was funny for a while because a lot of it stayed in the void, as time moves the useless void has started to become the whole forum.
Post a question about what a game is or for help, you have members who still find it funny to post King's Bounty completely derailing the thread and inviting more members posting stupid posts irrelevant to the thread title.
I remember back when I first joined here we didn't have so many members. Threads didn't move as fast and it was nice because the ones who were here, all had long winded posts that were interesting to see.
Since the mentality of the void has spilled over the rest of the forum and more members have joined seeing it happen so now it's "acceptable", those posts you take your time writing about all of a sudden become 3 pages behind and you'll never know if anyone said anything because no one seems to post in the right section. Memes are posted, technical questions are asked, scene related chat takes up and nothing in relation to the gameplay of the game itself.
I do think there needs to be a change personally, I grow tired of trying to read educated posts from some of the great members here but having to sift through 2 pages of derp derp derp HAHAHA HUUUR DUURRRR *insert meme picture here*.
This site has more freedom than any other forum I've been on and it's great because it opens up a lot of areas to be covered....ahem....but people are really starting to take stuff way too far.
I was starting to back into the making game template threads for the PC section like I used to do but even with our broken search it's hard to keep track of what threads exist already, and if there is one that exists, it's a certain few members who completely disregard the template in the rules section and instead, post a couple links and a picture and call it a day resulting in pages of posts asking questions and posting links that all could have been avoided by making a proper template cutting down on the clutter of posts so the general discussion flows better.
Those are my thoughts, they are what they are. There's some of us who left the orange site because of how much trolling was taking place. The orange site is bashed for how immature it can get. This forum is on the same path orangy is on now days and it's really not fun to come back here anymore.

This was something that MRT and I talked about when during the discussion recently about giving me MOD status was the fact that the few/couple moderators that are active in the game section are burned out with people not following the rules and posting whatever they want in whatever thread they want, I was interested in helping cleaning stuff up.
That isn't a "what the community wants", that's just plain disregard to the rules we have in place for a reason.
Like I said above, take the blame and heat off Madd Max, as far as I'm aware, the post and getting the ball rolling was after I talked to him in PM, so if anyones going to get flamed, flame me for it.

I follow them quite a lot and don't see too many issues, so people don't need to worry about that!
People should REALLY be worrying about how [MRT] might make the site look at some point soon!! Word has it he's found paint.exe in a old Windows partition lolz

Maxx was freshly back and asked me why I was leaving. Since the couple months that I only posted once a week if that, things here have gotten slightly better.

Well i kinda have to argree with the part that if this change was going to apply to the whole forums, the whole forums should be consulted.
Not only a small group.
That small group is nothing compared to the number of normal members.
I personally find the rule ok and would clean up some mess.
But the best thing to do is to poll it for everyone, not just VIP

I have no problem with this ruling in the World News forums, but extending it to the rest of the forums?
Thanks but no thanks.
