Well it's a lot more powerful than the A320, capable of emulating pretty much anything up to the PS1 ... but N64 is a bit too laggy sometimes. For $65, I'm trying to find reasons NOT to buy one Apparently the 601 and 602 don't really handle heavy (Dead Trigger, etc) Android gaming all that well -- but games like GTA3 and Max Payne run great from what I can see.
It's an emulation handheld but has no external ROM support, you have to buy each game separately on "Neo Geo Game Cards" -- and you only get the joystick/dock if you buy the "Gold Limited Edition" which is going to set you back $200 in total. That's just downright disgusting and shows that SNK/PlayMore are so out of touch with reality that it's just not funny.
Anyone who buys this is stupid and has more money than sense.

"shows thank"? I meant "shows that" -- dumb typos. Honestly though -- buying this would be ridiculously pointless. Just get a $65 Android handheld and have access to every Neo title out there, full speed, and most of these handhelds support HDMI output too.
for that money you can buy a laptop with HDMI out that can run perfect MAME emulation, if this was system on a chip with real cartridges they would have had at least an attractive alternative to emulation
They're really aiming for a clueless demographic here. ;p
I think they're just counting on the brand name, I mean.. just look at their site, all they go on about was how expensive the Neo Geo is and how it's the best of the best. They're counting on Neo fanatics to rush out and buy this overpriced piece of crap.
Cool! So cool! Best games ever made! You were COOL if you had one of these! It was expensive though, that much COOL comes at a price! You had to pay COOL money to get this COOL device! Now YOU can be as COOL as the kids were back then! COOL! Only $200! COOL!
I loved my Neo, it was pride and joy and I got it by trading my A600 with over a hundred games *and* a colour monitor. Yeah, it was COOL, no doubt about it, but that was nearly 20 years ago. $200 for an EMULATED version is just too much, especially when you have to buy the extra games separately.
oh wow , didnt know you had a neo geo, you sir are a god. neo geo and multi mega were 2 consoles i dreamed of and could never afford, tried to save up for multi mega for so long i didnt have a mega cd till it was out of production.
But i pre ordered one. LOL. Yes Im a Neo-Geo Whore. Still have my AES, And still working on my consolized MVS. Have a Neo-Geo Pocket Color with a complete set.
Why on earth would you waste $200 on this when you already have an AES *and* an MVS?? You could just get a Dingoo or something for a fraction of the price and use that

I actually don't plan on playing it much. Im a collector. I have my PSP with neo roms. I have no need for it at all to be honest. That is why i said call me dumb. lol.
Haha, well I guess collectors are a bit strange I'm suitably envious of the device itself.. just not that insane price tag.
I actually don't think $200 for this is even close to high from someone who just wants a bit of a collectors item (I don't have any personal interest in neogeo but I can see the appeal).
I didn't say the price was high for collectors, just that it's an insane price for normal people considering what it offers which, aside from the arcade joystick, is absolutely nothing that isn't offered cheaper and better on other platforms.
Just got back from vacation and My Neo-Geo X Limited was waiting on my desk for me. This is the first time i have had any "New" SNK product. I cant explain how much i enjoyed opening it. LOL . (I have a Neo-Geo addiction problem, maybe because i could never afford one when i was 15, i don't know)
The build quality of the handheld and the docking station is very good. The docking station really blew me away as i was not expecting it to be so nice.
The joystick is identical to my AES sticks (- my cracked ball tops lol) except its USB. Buttons feel the same, and i am sure they used the same mold as the original.
Wow, I thought I posted this a while back - but I guess not, sorry! Anyhow, the Neo-Geo X was hacked to run Unibios with a ROM menu selection and hackers discovered that not only is the Neo-Geo X running on the same SoC as the GCW Zero, but that the makers were actually breaking EULA by using a modified version of the FBA emulator without permission. The "Neo-Geo X Gamecard" is essentially a pin-swapped SD Card and they can be physically modified to enable write support, enabling you to add as many ROMS as you can fit.
Game card includes firmware update that includes game save functionality, improved TV aspect ratio compatibility, improved sound quality and more!
And likely also attempts to fix the current "hack" -- so if anyone does have this () be careful, read up on Neo-Geo.com first, see what the skinny is on the firmware update.
