enter the admin interface
might vary slightly depending on router model - mine is wgt624v3
default ip is 192.168.1.1, username: admin, default password: password (these read on the box)
i had my custom mac set under basic settings and i switched it to default mac
there was a reason i set it a year ago but i've forgotten now
you can reset the dhcp from router status -> connection status -> click release and then renew
i also went to logs and clicked clear logs, if that makes any difference

Well XSS is Cross Site Scripting, and may only effect a percentage of users visiting a site. As far as getting rid of it..XSS is a site problem, but it can influence your browser to download malicious code if the XSS is coded to do so. The only real problem with that idea is that it would require it to only effect the nfohump site, and not your entire computer. So i'd like to see what the perctage of users who are having problems are using for security or antivirus.

No.. For one i'm not saying it is the site that is "infected".
Second. XSS is not an infection but the possibility to use vulnerable code to pass malicious code to the next user who visits the site after it is injected.
It is not a huge likelyhood that is this case(Due to the lack of randomness and the fact it is "sticking" to users), so please do not jump to conclusions.

On another note..that firewall isn't going to protect you against much. It's essentially going to block Ports, which may protect you about the same as a grain of salt AFTER you have a virus. Get something free like Microsoft Security Essentials.. if you cannot get that..use Avira Antivir (check the Antivirus thread for other suggestions)

well, it was obviously a router issue since the site worked fine on my non-router server and now works fine everywhere as i fiddled with the router
take a backup of the settings and do a factory setting reset
what i'm curious of is how it only happened here
there must be some specific bit order in ip or mac that causes this behaviour to trigger, and possibly overlaps with a clock overflow bug of some sort as it happened at the same time for both of us
xss is just browser scripting
i doubt any antivirus software would care about it
you can't really break a site with images like that with just javascript
could be some ad provider being nasty ofcourse, but i have ads blocked
i think i did see java requesting to be ran in chrome.. what was that about?
i have all plugins either disabled or behind flashblock so it can't have done anything, but what would java be doing here in the first place?
*foil hat on*

try change the router mac address to a custom one, so it'll force a new ip lease
then a firmware upgrade or downgrade
beyond that i can't really think of anything else but take it back to the shop
