A video of their upcoming DX11 Windows 8 version.

At first glance looks almost identical to Unreal Engine 4 demo. But probably runs 4x worse. grinhurt

It will obviously make our 670/680'ies and 7950/7970'ies, single or CF/SLI'd cry and suffer and won't be smooth until 2 more generations of cards have been released sometime in 2014.

As for now no 3dmark can kill my rig. That almost feels weird

Btw. It felt almost strange going from 10k with old rig to 28k on new, with 3dmark 2006

Exactly, they skip any optimization process on purpose, just to make you believe that your brand new overpriced top-card is actually useful Twisted Evil Razz

nope. I only ran it once but it was rather smooth as far as 3dmark goes. That means - no slide show
about 10k-11k as if i am not wrong

Not possible to get 10-11K with 7870 (unless its OC´d by liguid nitrogen and volt mods) Very Happy. I can get just over 11k on 7970 @ 1300/1700 and i5 @ 5Ghz.

Vantage should have something along 30k+

I got 10620 on my 2500K and single HD7950, which was absolute maximum you can push out of the setup on Air (5.2GHz and 1250/1500)

Related, the evolution of real time PC graphics (3dMark's included)

Pretty impressive, but I have to admit that these benchmarks were way more impressive back in the early 2000s. Without the consoles holding back the gaming tech, we would already be in the "next generation". Razz

I would say that graphics in benchmarks changed slower than graphics in games for some reason

I think it's mainly because of the art direction/design, many of these benchmarks may show advanced effects, but they have a very generic feel if compared to some of the best good-looking games around. Talented developers > powerful engines/graphical giggles as always Smile (obviously if the engine is really old, well, there's not much to do).

Watching it right now. Great stuff. Bringing back so many memories of the glorious old days.

Thanks. Smile

It is 3GB lol, must be some error in 3DMark11 itself Surprised

EDIT: Screenshot of that 3DMark run http://stigez.com/ocn/3dm11_10957.png

I reckon I could propably push a 5.6GHz run within 1.6V VCore, almost managed to do 5.5GHz with same voltages.
Should push me to that magical "top 5" there (requires 11200+).

Few suicide runs won't do no harm considering I had mine at nearly 1.6V for almost 2 months with the EXtreme 4 lol

Yeah i know, i just tried my 2700K @ 5.2Ghz (1.475V). Planning to do full Watercooling when 900D case comes to Finland, then i will punish this chip to the limits Very Happy.

My result: 7970 @ 1250/1700 and 2700K @ 5.2Ghz. Moon position was correct today, only memory speed is shown incorrectly Very Happy
