Well, you can not do nothing else, BUT play this game offline. It has no multiplayer and once you downloaded it off steam, its just the old dos game and dosbox installed on your system, so works regardless whether or not steam is running

Sorry about the delay, I had a lot of stuff to see to and not much time for fun and games :/
Lets get to it.
Our first, and last?, terror mission is coming up, you'll notice not everybody is here, thats because they were apparently injured in the last mission and are relaxing in med bay.


WhiteBarbarian is the first one up. Lets hope he's as lucky as he usually is.


WB spotted 2 aliens!, nice job. Now all he has to do is hit them, lets try the closest one first shall we.


WB hits the alien with 1 out of 2 auto shots, it turns around and shoots him. No more luck for WB, RiP.


leon steps out to help WB and is immediatly killed by plasma fire coming from the south.


Marcelle tries her luck and hits the alien with 1 out of 2 autoshots, killing it.


azzman, kenji and evelyn have exited the graft, 2 hostiles in viewrange, the closest one is hiding in the small cluster of trees. Kenji takes the shot - and misses, he hurries back in cover.


Rene buchard, the captain, goes for an aimed shot at the other hostile, but misses.


The bastard ate evelyn!, Kenji goes on full auto and kills it.


azzman, Rene and Marcelle moves forward, marcelle is on point, suddenly she's hit by plasma fire from the rooftop and she's killed - the hostiles are floaters and are known to hide around in high places.


azzman tries to take out the alien in the park, he crouches down and kills it with auto fire.


As azzman turns around theres another hostile looking at him, presumeably the one who killed Evelyn. He goes full auto on that one as well, killing it.


As Rene died of a fatal wound inflicted by the previous hostile, it's only azzman and rene left, so they start to move back towards the Skyranger.


Then azzman spots another of these hardy hostiles, and he's out of ammo, he reaches for the clip in his belt and slowly reloads, telling Kenji to start firing.


Kenji hits it through the fence with every single auto shot, but it's still standing, it's up to azzman now to finish it. He wastes no ammo and hits it with 6 shots before it's dead, with no clips left and ammo quickly dissappearing, azzman and kenji decide to make a run for it.


They're almost at the craft when they're intercepted by another hostile!, they give it all they can but it's still coming at them!.


It killed Kenji! you bast... azzman is down to only 4 shots now and no clips left, he runs as fast as he can towards the entrance to safety.


azzman is heading up the ramp, his clothes wet with sweat, he has to stop for a moment and breathe, or he fears he might have a heart attack, he hears the iconic sound of a heavy plasma being fired and his world turns black.

...To be continued maybe.. if theres money left to buy a new craft.

I cant help but notice, that only 7 soldiers were on that plane.

First rule of engagement: full crew. Especially on terror missions. You can do with 20-30 scientists early on and theres no need for more than 20-25 engineers either, until february or march, so always keep 10-15 soldiers around.

Superhuman difficulty: always bring heavy weapons (heavy cannons, tons of grenades, rocket launchers, tanks), always bring a full crew on terror missions, make sure the last man never leaves the craft or the immediate vicinity of the craft.. losing 10+ soldiers is bad enough, but still only costs some 400k to replace. losing the ship costs you an additional 600k.

Salvage equipment from your dead comrades.. the game tends to 'leave' the equipment of dead soldiers on the mission site, unless you pick it up. So if your guy has time to do it, make sure to pick up the more valuable and manufactured stuff and haul them back to the ship. Especially for the manufactured stuff, as that can take lots of time to replace.

Do not worry about armor.. your guys will die a lot anyway, until you get at least flying suits, and if you lose a guy, you lose the armor on the guy.. spending a month an precious cash to build 10 armors, only to have 9 lost in the next mission is just not worth it.

Use the russian approach: if you can't achieve technological superiority, achieve superiority through numbers. Use more cannon fodder. Also use rookies for scouting. It will ensure that the veterans can survive missions and thus improve their stats.

we will have a better chance to survive, if the damn commander starts hiring some more rookies that can go up ahead and take the bullet meant for us.

Do you think armor can stop a searing hot ball of plasma mate? You got to be kidding me. I would rather choose a meatshield over kevlar or cheramic plates if I were you.
