2. Manually disable IDE drives
3. Start SFcure
4. Disable CD and Disable node in SFN
5. Play game
Oh, leave mounted in DT or Alcohol...either of which work fine. |

Here is another idea, second only to the best one that SpankingJesus mentioned - refuse to pay for Starforce protected games - and that is to call tech support and flood them with Starforce issues. If you have bought a Starforce game - lord help you - then a call or two to tech support bitching that it won't work will also have a negative economic impact on the company. The more tech support calls they get on FUBAR'ed systems using Starforce will consume more of their resources.
I opt for not buying the game in the first place, but the second option sends a message that will be noticed more readily.

Another method,
Got the latest shareware Alc120% and burned the iso from there.
I enabled the option 'Burn as DVD-ROM"
Burned it a 1x
So i uninstalled d-tools & alc120%
Now the Starforce isnt complaining about the disc but still doesnt accept my cdkey.
Seems like it made a good cloned dvd?

No, you can't burn working dvd's from starforce 3 protected games (you can play burned dvd's via usb-dvd ,but not ide dvd,dvd-raw writhing mode is not possible yet and that is required to make 1:1 copy from starforce3 protected games). When starforce detects that you don't have genuine game,it reports that cd-key is wrong, it's just the way it works.

Hardwire profiles – mechanism to manage different hardwire configurations in WinXP(and I think in win2000 I haven’t used that much). If you have more than one profile then during windows boot procedure you will be able to choice the one you want.
here we go
1) Open ‘System’ control panel
2) ‘Hardware’ tab -> ‘Hardware Profiles’
3) Select profile ending with ‘(Current)’ and click ‘Copy’
4) If desired change profile name and click ‘OK’
5) Close ‘Hardware Profiles’ window by clicking ‘OK’
6) Reboot
7) Select your newly created profile
8) Open ‘System’ control panel
9) ‘Hardware’ tab -> ‘Device Manager’
10) Select your IDE controller(on nForce4 with nvidia IDE drivers installed it is named ‘NVIDIA nForce4 Parallel ATA Controller’) -> right mouse click -> 'Properties'
11) In ‘General’ tab in ‘Device usage’ menu select ‘Do not use this device in the current hardware profile (disable)’
12) Click ‘OK’
13) Repeat steps 10 to 12 for each IDE controller

Just tried running UFO: Aftershock – WORKS ! No SFCure, no SFNightmare just vanilla DAEMON 4 with all emulation options OFF and disabled IDE controller in Device Manager
Here my specs:
Abit AN8 Ultra
Athlon 64 3700+
2GB RAM
GeForce 7800GTX
1 SATA-II HDD
1 IDE DVD burner
0 IDE HDDs
WindowsXP SP 2
nVidia nForce4 drivers installed(IDE, SATA, Ethernet, etc…)
Secondary IDE channel disabled in BIOS
Primary IDE channel disabled in Device Manager via Hardware Profiles
DAEMON 4 with one virtual drive and all emulations options – OFF
There are no other virtual drives tools installed(Alcohol 120, cloneCD, etc...)
