I agree you can, and you can nonviolently defend yourself.
Difference of opinions I guess. I never needed violence in all the weird shit I've been in. Such as having a gun in my and my wifes face in a strip club parking lot. Or jumped in a park at night by people that reaaaally had it out for me. (Man...I was stupid in my late teens early 20's)
I personally cannot see a time where doing so isn't a higher risk than not myself.
On a macro scale of people, absolutely, wars will happen. But a personal level, higher risk of a situation getting worse.
