Maybe it's because I find action/stealth far more engaging than walking around and tripping over just to talk to dull holograms with a story that tries as hard as it can for you to not relate to or understand anything.
I reinstalled it so I can try and finish it this time, but your post just took the enthusiasm out of me
That's how I see it to same as firemaster:
QWOP simulator with Cutting edge visuals, wrapped around a pretentious grandiose story.
That the QWOP parts you need to do between the 'movie' parts is the equal to watching a M. Night Shyamalan movie paused, and spending 30 minutes trying to move soup from one bowl to another with a fork, so you can hit the play button on the movie for 5 minutes and hit pause again..repeat.
At least everyone I seen play it, or talk about it I know, comes off as that: It's got a story, you just need to fumble and flop around while also doing combat, to be able to see that story.

Take it with a grain of salt (after all we have our forged tastes) but for me the game was about the threat of BTs and MULEs, specially with the former. The odradek suddenly twitching, BB starting to get agitated and a path you can't avoid without tons of extra effort. Made my roads, placed some shelters and weaved a net of ziplines. Bliss! Few games (if any) made me feel such satisfaction and pleasure enjoying its weird story (in the end it was about universal themes, death and love) while perching safely from point A to point Z. It was a blast alright.
This is a discussion that emerges periodically and the best part of it is, everyone is right. When one analyzes the game from a rational point of view, its appeal looks almost unexplainable. And yet, quite a few people are lucky enough to connect with the bizarre mumbo-jumbo that is the combo storytelling/atmosphere/FedExian walking sim gameplay, ultimately finding the experience memorable, personal and rather unique.
I'm very picky when it comes to Japanese games, but somehow (and against all odds ), I too had a pretty great time with DS despite its limitations. Or maybe deep down inside I just enjoy being a lonely post-apocalyptic-post-man covered with goo.

That's how she looks in reality. Did you watch 'One Fine Morning'?
Maybe I'm getting it wrong, but is that supposed to imply that she looks bad in that movie?
Not my favorite hair style, but she exhibits an amazing body there, and I mean a really beautiful female body, as opposed to that synthetic influencer crap that plagues Instagram and social networks in general nowadays
Apparently there is a State of Play next week.
I heard Death Stranding 2 might release in May.
Might not be true as that’s the same month for Doom: The Dark Ages
everybody keeps telling me DS1 was so great and all... played it until the first boss... never got into it... which i regret as i usually like kojima
what's wrong with me
The boss fights are terrible and giga frustrating. The combat isn't made for such things and all of them have annoying multi phases just when you hope it's over the fight restarts. And it only becomes worse. I finally had enough at 3rd before the last boss and uninstalled the game. Watched some YT video to see how it ends and when I saw the last boss was glad I did that.
But overall the game is good. Wish there was option to skip the boss fights tho.

Nothing wrong with you, after MGS, Kojima fried his brain with too many drugs and shat out the most nonsensical boring walking simulator and 3D scanned reedus' naked ass because he's gay.
