They're working on other shows in the universe. Makes sense they won't stretch this. Honestly that's one things that gives me hope this might maintain quality, or at least not drop too far from the first season, but who knows...
I now shit about LoL. Never played it, never even seen someone else played it, have no clue about the lore. But god damn, this show is superb. Just finished s2 act 2 and it is going into some dark places. Cannot wait for the finale next week, but my gut feeling tells me, it wont be a pretty one
nice graphics upgrade, the first act while still good just wasnt as good as first season act 1, but damn act 2 delivered and so much more, when the action ramps up with the music and emotions with the twists and turns this show is just on another level, there is just nothing like it
I wouldn't say it was that bad, but it definitely have a lot of pacing issues, and the story is too rushed for people not knowing the lore. I.e I had to check what is the deal with the Black Rose as the show doesn't explain that part at all. I think it didn't need the whole new season but just another act to tie some loose ends.
Nevertheless I've enjoyed it a lot. S2 was not as brilliant as s1, but still played on my emotions quite heavy which not many shows can do. Also with catching up to some lol lore stuff you can fill some blanks in the story. They stumbled at the end, but for me it was still a fairly satisfying ending. If only other shows had such "terrible" endings
Some people on reddit claims that there was to much fan service and too little storytelling for average viewer that doesn't know lol, and I can see that being true.
I hope we will get another lol related project in the near future.
Nah, it's all emotion and no brain. Things made sense and were written well in the first season. They just didn't give a shit in S2. It may not be the worst show ever, but it's the biggest disappointment in years for me. I thought it would be bad, and I was still somehow surprised how bad they could make it. It still looks good and has flashy moments and all that, so for a lot of people, especially when hyped and not paying too much attention it might seem good. But I would wager most people's opinion will drop a lot on a second watch where they actually pay attention to what happens, cause it all falls apart then.
This season fully embraced League of Legends and this already made it a bit more difficult for non-players to digest. But this wasn't the biggest problem, the pacing was the real issue. Too often things happened too quickly.
The season just didn't have enough time to explain or show everything as too many narrative threads took place simultaneously. At least 3 episode, if not more, needed 1 more 1+ minutes of screen time to slow down and show what in some cases should be obvious, but needed to be shown nonetheless.
The first season was better constructed and rarely had such narrative slipups, if at all. Time was most likely the problem. How much time they had to make season 1 compared to season 2 or the time limitations they set on themselves for the season's 9 episodes, around 35 minutes each. Even they knew they didn't have enough time, that's why so many episodes start with those stylized narrative moments that compressed a lot of events in 30-40 seconds of screentime.
I still loved it. It did justice to most of the characters and it landed on its feet. Episodes 5 and 7 were absolutely fantastic.
The show teased a continuation in Noxus with Swain making an appearance (the crow).
Was binging season one and started 2, but its just not gripping me. It feels like they're forcing the character development to align with the game or something, but with all the ups and downs of season 1 i just don't see it. Jinx giving that indian woman her slot machine hand and that rodent character is compeltely silly
