That's not bad at all. I went the old fashion machinist route with a dial indicator attached to the head like you do on a machinist mill to set flatness. More contextual and familiar to me.

I use cura, mostly because its seamless to integrate with octoprint with a plugin.
I run my 3d printer screenless I have no way to input into it from the machine itself. Everything is controlled with octoprint running on a PI with wifi.
I can still hook the screen to it if I need to (say software hiccup, or something). But as of now its all in a sealed case with fans under the bed.

Grabbed the Micro Swiss - Direct Drive Extruder (including all metal hotend), along with a 50W heater/Thermistor, & a couple of Noctuas (40x20) to shove on there. Also got a nice 8mm Endoscope for the nozzle view (could watch that all day, every day, lol), now that I've found out how to stream 2 webcam views in Octoprint.
Bit of work involved here. Hotend casing is not compatible, so I will have to print my own (doing so right now), and modify to accept holder for the nozzle cam. Wiring on these replaceable thermistor/heater jobs are way too short (1M), so they will have to be extended. Another buck will have to be wired in also, as I don't wanna risk running 4 fans off the one unit, although, fans pull nowhere near the max of 2A each to possibly overload it, I'd still rather have 2 on each buck. A lot of fiddly jiggery to get axis's all correct again, that, and the new position of the BLTouch sensor. So a lot of firmware edits ahead New bed nuts finally arrived, I wanted blue ones to go with theme, so I waited a long time for them, so perfect timing there
Course, I may just need a Dual Z upgrade after?, if weight is an issue, lol.
Who says I'm bored during lock-down? lol

Cheers m8!!
Yeah, all Noctua's 2 x 40x20 at hotend/part cooling, 2 x 40x10 on mainboard, and a 92x14 on PSU. Night & day as regards to noise so quiet now, more so the PSU, as original one was a screamer. The Swiss DD kit is pretty sweet, well made and of very good quality, comes with everything, so its a good buy, but if you have a 3V2, then you will need to print your own holder/cover, as I've done.

Thermistors for the bed?
I think long as you are rough ballpark is good enough. Bed temp isn't super critical to be precise.
If your talking for the head, then not sure. Never picked up any of the chinesium ones myself to know if they are accurate at all even with a chart for settings for them.

Nice!
How did the thermistors work out, Was they accurate enough? Didn't wake up after a print to a plastic bird nest did you?

looking to get a 3d printer, obviously Ender 3 is the first choice. But which version? Should I go with Ender 3 pro vs Ender 3 V2? The main differences being the Pro’s enhanced stability and print quality with a sturdier base for the Y axis from what I read. But that might be actually related to Ender 3 Pro vs Ender 3 V1. Can anybody comment on that?

Not obviously the Ender 3 anything The Voxelab Aquila will save you a pretty penny, and in all honstey, is a really good printer for the money One thing to note. Once you start with whatever 'base' you wish, it's addictive, and you will mod the hell out of it regardless So my advice, go cheap, then build from there. Don't be fooled with 'Pro' this, 'MAX' that, as you will damn well make it that anyway The V2 is what I started with, and it's going pretty cheap today also. You can't go wrong with either. Just get yourself an RPi, if you don't already have one, as that will save a whole heap of troubles, and ensures you never need to be near your printer whatsoever. Once you see that 'first' print done, whether downloaded, or designed yourself, you will be hooked, that is what you have to worry about Damn the 'lock-down' for this!

How did your enclosure come out?
The ones they come with (if your new one even fit it) always seem the cheapest part of the whole printer. I can see why, its a non-essential part. But always makes them feel: This is a nice printer...the board/control case though not so much. Is that an aliexpress generic plastic hobby box?

Thats nice looking! really compact and functional.
Way less complicated than what I did.
And it might be the filament. Not sure if different brand than the blue.
But I've had to fiddle with settings and temps for supposedly same-same on paper filament, but two different brands.
I had one brand that other than the color they was dead the same. But white would print beautiful with settings, then grey wound birds nest, and clump, and clog until I found what it liked.
I've just decided to stick with esun brand. So far its the most consistent no matter what color or such I use by them.

I really really really want a relatively good 3D printer. No budget for it though. I have a friend who owns several different models (in various states.. he's converting one into a circuit board printer). I can't remember what his current 3D printer is but it's been tweaked and modded to make pretty damn smooth prints. I'm planning to ask him to print certain items (ie. looking up models online that he can print for me).
I'll ask him to print all the sides of the Lament Configuration (the Hellraiser puzzle box) that I can glue onto a wooden cube (getting the weight is important), paint and glue copper/gold foil on the embossed details that I'll stain/antique and finally a coat of protective lacquer.

Turns out, lol, I complained to BTT Support, and they sent me another SKR 2 board, saying they didn't want other back, they then sent me another BLTouch, but it was my error So, now, 2 x SKR 2 boards & 2 x BLTouch that are fine Oh well. I'll put that down to Covid, may as well?, lol. But all good
Great Customer Service.
