Of course it would, and I am under NDA. I would never break my NDA, but it doesnt stop me from voicing my opinion about the people I meet and the things I do, so long as I dont say anything classed as "intel confidential" Im fine Smile!

haha, thanks for the input. Any suggestions for a banner that would look good and match the site? I do want to keep things simple, but I agree the banner is a little... none existant. Do you think it would look better if I reduced the size of the top cell so there was less white space?

That depends who you are working for. You certainly have heard about that Microsoft employee (can't remember where he was from), who had a blog about his work with Microsoft? The guy was quite happy with his work there and the blog showed MS in a positiv way, he even obeyed to his NDA, but he got fired anyway.

BTW nice blog syn, i have read some of your stories in your old blog too Smile One suggestion: What if you remove the black frame around the site and "expand" the sites layout to the whole site. This way you don't have that strong contrast between black and white anymore Smile

I'm not worried, we have internal blogs too which get leaked all the time Razz!

Yeah, I thought about doing that myself and tested it. It didnt look right though, plus id have to piss around with some of the other site features as it was always streching beyond the end of the window for some reason, little mad!

plans for future updates/improvements and I want to know what people think Smile As the site was initially going to be pretty personal and not so "public" I went for the very simple design you see, but during the time of making I wanted to add more content than just a blog, I wanted to put up information I have about tech.. although most is gathered from other places, its not always so easy to find by people who may want to look.. So based on that I want to start a fresh with a more comercial feel rather than the simplistic look and feel. Should maybe think about a new domain lol..

hehe.. im a web developer for you know who, they BITCH at me day and night about websites Razz! I can take anything lol - Ok so we have a no to the background (this was a big concern of mine anyway lol).

Is it the colour? The look?

You could start aligning the text on the right side as well, it looks sloppy when the text ends at different points. The background is bad, why it is, I dont know. Maybe because of the colour alteration or and that the choice of colour is a bad one. I guess a white back ground might clash with the black surrounding.

Dont get me wrong, the background is nice to look at, but it interfers for me with the reading of the text.

Good points! Seen as I plan on re-doing the site anyway and giving it more content and a less "personal blog" feel.. how about we simply note down what we dont want on the Version 2 Smile

- White backgrounds = BAD
- Current "white" version of black BG is crap
- Text alignment needs to remain constant
- Possible use of gradient (white/grey/black) to keep the site from looking gothy (haha)
- Column based but not over croweded
- More prominant banner image
