It will drain like 1-2% Battery in a hour. If that is ok for you then use always on, if not turn it off. I dont use it. Smile

Yes you will get used to it, still you can add a second unlock Option.
Iris Scanner or Face unlock. So you dont have to use the Finger Print Scanner all the time. I use Finger Print + Face unlock because it's faster and easier. Just Look at the phone and unlocked. When using iris Scanner you need to Look at the pattern and because of this it's a little bit slower but also safer and it will work even in the dark.

Because of the accuracy :
I thought the same but then i bought my case and added the Finger prints again. Now it works 95% of the time without Problems. The case kinda help to add the Finger on the right Spot right away. Got 2 scans for my left Index Finger and 2 for my right.

If you close the Apps in the App Switcher they shouldnt be there anymore.
They still might run in the background (not visible in the App Switcher) for notifications or other stuff but this is how it should be.
There is also a RAM cleaner on Samsung Phones which will close the Apps completly but they will Start again after some time. So you can use it from time to time but it's not needed.

Normaly it should just connect with one notification, something seems wrong but i dont know what it could be. Try to remove the Network completly and add it again.

Red notifications??? I never had those. What Do they say?

If you are not so far with setting it up and all i would advice to Check for System Updates, Download and Install them and then do a factory reset.
Atleast that is what i would Do if you cant resolve your notification Problems. Maybe there is something fucked up for whatever reason.

Well Android has More Customizing, there are adblockers, you can install apks without the need of a store (hello free Apps and games) or root your phone for even More System Customizing and options.

Maybe Get swiftkey beta keyboard it's much better then the Stock one. Nova launcher is also much better then the Stock launcher but it has alot of options and all. Be prepared to take some time to Set it up.

Makes sense on the face unlock + finger scan for other purposes, cool!

If I try to read my notifications at the info screen and I hold it up to look at it, does it unlock and switch screens on me? Or does it unlock and I still have to swipe or something?

Well I wanted to close the Discord app, because I wanted to log out of the servers to not be "online" anymore, but Android started spamming the fuck out of my notification center with all the Discord chat messages rolling in. I definitely don't want that. I want closing the app to mean I'm not in the chat anymore. Does that make sense?

It's not a big deal about the Wifi notification, but every time I open the notification tray thing it's always there. Not a huge issue, but I'll try a few troubleshooting ideas on it later.

One red notification was telling me that I had left a Remote Desktop session. But I CLOSED the app with App Switcher, I expect it to close the connection to Remote Desktop. But the Notification was red and wouldn't go away. I had to re-open the app, go back into the session, and "X" it out, then close the app to remove the red notification. Annoying :\

Cool I will check those out, thanks for the info again!

EDIT:

I guess the Wifi notification is like.. a thing.. Lot's of articles on it being annoying and ways to deal with it. Oh well, still not a big deal. Razz At least I'm not alone.

Discord app should be all set. I disabled notifications for it, and when closing it, it correctly reports me as offline. All good there.

One crazy problem I am having. Since I just switched from an iPhone to an Android... I have a Fitbit HR Alta, and it can receive text messages from the phone and give a preview. People are sending me iMessages, and they are RECEIVING on my Fitbit, but do not show up AT ALL on the phone. What the hell????

there is a setting for this.
option 1: press power button on the phone, look at it and it will get unlocked.
option 2: press power button, you can still read notifications but then you need to swipe or press a button to activate face unlock.
option 2 isn't that fast then of course but your phone won't get unlocked right away if that is what you are looking for.

the app will still run in the background for purposes like this. some people want notifications. if you close the app in the app switcher you shouldn't be online in the app anymore tho.
if you dont want the notifications either turn them off in the app itself or you can go into the android settings and completly disable them for every app you want to.

it really shouldn't but i don't know maybe for whatever reason this is bloatware related or something like that? do you got the phone from a carrier or is it a unlocked version?
i really never have seen this.
maybe it's this? https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-Note-8-Questions-and/Note-8-WiFi-Notifications-Still-Popping-Up/td-p/181876
for example i don't even have this notification option on my phone, maybe because it's a unlock version. :/

ah shit now i have seen your edit Very Happy should had read the whole post before writen.
about the imessage thing i really can't say anything. Sad maybe because there is no imessage on android? but how does the fitnessband receive them then???? magic. i really don't know Sad

Yah that is why it's so confusing. If Android can't receive it, how the hell can it still be sent to my FitBit via the link to the phone?! Confused Laughing

Can't be anything left over from the iPhone, the FitBit app is deleted, and the phone is completely turned off.

So weird!

EDIT: Man the fingerprint reader is really pissing me off. My fingers are clean, dry, the phone is clean... I have the max number of allowed fingerprints in there for a SINGLE FINGER, and I can rarely get a successful scan.

Pretty much the single most obnoxious thing so far.
