the gamecontroller menu has a testing menu for every controller yes. but may show different numbers, you have to test that (and maybe the device itself brings its on config/test menu which replaces the windows one. dunno about that though, or lets say if that is still allowed by ms. was a windows xp thing but worked with most the software of the devices on vista and 7 too)

Ordered

Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals
T.16000M FCS Hotas Joystick

i've had the pedals before, they're decent enough.

next order will be Playseat Air Force

a big reason why i sold the HOTAS warthog setup i had some years ago was that i was lacking a good spot to place it, it takes up quite a lot of space + it gets uncomfortable if you don't have a really ideal spot for it.

Next step is clearing out a small room (it's a big closet) to use as dedicated VR/flight sim room.

what's your HOTAS setups? pics if you have 'em!

Hasn't Saitek always been absolute garbage given they were owned by Mad Catz? Or did Logitech actually fix the quality issues.

when i googled 5'ish years ago those were the pedals that came up as recommended (going through forums etc) and i bought them, they worked well enough for me, no issues..

goggled again and they come up again, good for the price etc. guess we'll see.. maybe i was lucky last time.. i don't think so though, they have good reviews overall, like always a few have a issues.

The T16ks are notorious for twist breaking on them. If you end up having to replace it down the road you might want to look into something like the VKB Gladiator NXT EVO Premiums.

https://vkbcontrollers.com/?product=gladiator-evo-omni-throttle

When I was looking into getting dual sticks for Star Citizen, I had the dual T16ks for a few weeks and ordered dual VKB Gladiator NXT Premiums last year and the quality difference was night and day and made the T16ks feel like a kids toy. VKB just updated the sticks to the new EVO edition which has a lot more bells and whistles on them and the price is about the same as I paid last year. With VKBs get the Premium edition as it comes with a bunch of extra springs and button options you can change on the stick for only a little bit more money so its worth getting that when you order the sticks.

not ordering from the US... the cost is just too big to import.

i might get the HOTAS warthog again down the road, it's available here..

and yeah these much, much cheaper sticks in plastic are clearly not the same quality, but honestly i quite like how it feels, just took it out of the box to test how it felt Smile

I recently watched a re-review (someone owning one for 2 years) he said he was still happy with it and he had used it daily. I'm not someone who will use this daily, i don't play as often as when i was younger Smile

VKB does have a European Branch.

https://flightsimcontrols.com/

The T16ks are weird as there are some people that have had them for a long time with no troubles and others have them break in a few months with light use, so I am not sure if it is a more recent issue with manufacturing or if some people are just more heavy handed or a combination of both. There are lots of post and videos though with people doing various fixes to correct the issues when their twist ends up going bad so you will be able to find one that could help if that ends up happening down the road.

Yeah, it's the same with a lot of controllers..

I've heard very good things about VKB so yes it got way more interesting now when they can be ordered within EU.. I'm sure i'll get one of those eventually.

Connected everything and tried some Rogue Squadron for a couple of hours. Had an immensely good time with it Smile tried the pedals for Yaw, but went back to using the joystick.. not sure about the optimal configuration yet.

Skipping the cockpit chair... after reading a lot of reviews it seems like assembly is a pain etc. I'm gonna mod my Ikea Markus.

This is a big advantage of buying anything-IKEA... if its a popular product that's been in production for years you will be able to find a ton of mods for the product.

edit: here's another, this one looks more comfy

forgot to post some images. price came down to around 50 euro instead of 400 euro for the chair and i think it's really comfy! it similar to above but i found much cheaper mounts (above ones costs 3x).
