Either the encoder didn't encode well, or the player did not know how to decode properly. End result: visible macroblocks. "Efficient" encoding by reducing quality. Where have I heard of that before?
I see a "proper square" in that h265 shot. Take a good look right above the smooth. Whether data was there or not, if the end result cannot display smoothly, it's worse, even if much more efficient.
So will this new encoder make the video size smaller?
