we've had a few cold records in Sweden in the last years. 2023 had record cold temperatures in the US too.
Earth is big, there will always be a record temperature somewhere on earth, cold or hot.
We've not measured exact temperatures for that long either, around 1800's, before that, who knows exactly and who know's what's "unusual".
we would know if something is unusual if we had a previous earth to look at (with exact temperature measurements taken there over all of its existence), and with no humans to interfere on that planet, and we don't, there's no reference.
We have references within living memory here. Ask any boomers here and they'll tell you things used to be a lot more rainy and cooler in the 70's and earlier. Records also confirm that.
There is no need to bootlick oligarchs "to own the libs" this is a totally different and real problem.
Something can be unusual for a human because he didn't experience it over x amount of years that he existed, that does not mean it's unusual for earth itself which exists for billions of years. What is 100 years in the time that earth will exist, or even 1000? It's nothing.
I'm not saying we're not interfering, i have no idea, and i don't think anyone else has either.

Ask anyone how hot the summer last year was, or how much rain we had last month. If there is one thing people forget, its the weather

That's kinda mean to all people involved in the field, isn't it ?

Doubftul. They're laughing all the way to the bank
I think it's on the same level as Aliens. There are people who claims to be in the know, yet the evidence is vague, though it (UAP's) might absolutely go the same route eventually.
You just need to have a big part of the population backing it up and wanting it, and its not hard to make people want something, if you make sure they are afraid.
Anything can be turned into a very, very profitable industry, and it can be used for power/politics/funding of whatever they want to fund instead of the actual thing (which they know is made-up BS but it pleases the population if it looks like their dollars is going there)
Remember, kids: if it's not near you then it must be a lie. When food ailes become gradually less populated, find the easiest scapegoat to punch down on!
Crazy heat yesterday, today and tomorrow in Israel…
The saving grace of this heat wave has been low humidity (at least here in Ashdod). I ventured outside for a considerable while today and almost didn't perspire despite infernal temperatures.

Measuring global climate (including temperature) isn't just recording the thermometer results. They get ice samples, they dig up stones, sediment etc. etc., measure erosion.. and thousands of other things that they carefully analyse, compare, re-analyse and rework to reach new conclusions.
There's so much more to it than you think. It's very complex and use data from dozens and dozens of scientific fields that none of use know anything about. Checking your local thermometer and making claims is utterly pointless.
The term global warming was replaced by global climate change. Short term (subjective) observations should not be confused with long term objective observations. If a pyroclastic volcano in Indonesia spews ash in the upper atmosphere for a couple of months, you will see a global cooling for a year or so. The ash particles reflect sunlight back to space.
We've had a long period of ~25-28 degrees in Sweden (I hate it, I'm definitely not acclimatized to hot temps), now we've had a lot of rain and thunderstorms for the last couple of weeks. The humidity has been horrible as well.
