When we thought about picturing a catastrophic scenario, we definitely didn't take into account that more often than not reality these days is worse than satire
Don't forget that there are two new Alien movies in the works. Ridley is working on a sequel to the crappy Covenant movie while Neill Blomkamp is working on a sequel to Aliens it seems (with Ellen Ripley and Hicks) which might be a proper Alien movie compared to the crappy covenant which was a severe compromise since Ridley Scotts original vision was ruined by executives who wanted braindead alien monsters that weren't scary in any way.

you and your outdated and wrong informations always.
also make up your own opinion instead of repeat what others said already 50000 times. lame.
i see your posts in the gpu thread and it's like im watching a gamers nexus video again, only that they guy who speaks doesn't know wtf he is talking about and just repeat what he heard.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

How am I supposed to know what articles and youtube clips you've watched? You can have your opinions but don't go nuts on my posts just because you think you're the king of knowledge and information. So please take a moment to reflect and stop being such a twat, it doesn't become you.
(and you tend to piss on my posts mostly for no apparent reasons. I don't care if you like me or not but please don't be a turd).
Apparently there's a MP shooter being worked on as well:

This new information did offer a confirmation of another video game, though: "a massively multiplayer online shooter set in the Alien cinematic universe for consoles and PC." Development duties for that game are being handled by Cold Iron Studios, a studio wholly owned by 20th Century Fox, and the company has been publicly hiring for this game for some time. No release window or other details about that game were included in Monday's news.

Nah uh. The animation looks too stilted to make a movie out of it.

Whose idea was it to include a fucking speaker with "beep beep beep" in the motion tracker which makes it unusable since the xenomorphs can hear it!?
Yeah, I'm doing my first proper playthrough (as seen in "which games are you currently playing?") and it's the dumbest thing. It should at least be possible to turn the sound off on the scanner.. but nooo, we need to have a loud beeper to not only make you more tense but also make sure that the xenomorph can hear YOU and know EXACTLY where you are if you use the scanner.. which is the single most important tool in the entire game.. well, the flamethrower comes in at a close 2nd but I think using the flamethrower only pisses them off and make them hunt you down much faster...
Another thing: when I enter/leave a locker I make the loudest ruckus possible, like using a sledgehammer on a tin roof. Why would I do that? And when I leave I BANG the door up so it can be heard in space.... Guess who hears it? Evil evil game designer.
I love the game while also being constantly on edge. It's draining and I have to take breaks to relax a little. Having my brain punched out of my head by a xenomorph before I've reached a savepoint is sooo bloody frustrating, making me start over from the last save (which may be 10-30 minutes back depending on where I am in the game).
I agree that Alien is far superior to Aliens, but the two are not really comparable. They are two completely different genres. One is a horror film, while the other is an action flick; they just happen to be set in the same universe. But the elegance of the original and its art design is completely gone in the second.
Not to mention that the original Aliens did have some initial suspense (there was no footage of regular life in the colony and appearance of face hugger before Weaver appears - that was all added in the Special Edition and IMO really spoils the atmosphere in the entire first half of the movie); however the SE contains some important background info in added dialogues when Weaver is getting convinced to join the crew, so if you don't watch it, you will lose something. I hate when I have to "choose" between two flawed versions.
The first Alien is almost perfect as is, and Director's Cut is great too (no messing with the flow of the story, just several alternate versions of existing scenes). That's because it's a proper SF+horror movie where you don't need to pimp action and elaborate the obvious any further.
