the game is just too long to replay it for this and it had a good send off for geralt...
if they really needed to tell this geralt story like they say they could have done like a prologue chapter in 4 but it just looks to me they wanted to make some sales again and get people back in time for 4
at least they knew it would look a bit dated and upgraded the graphics
It's for big fans who already finished it few times and need more, I guess. But old safe games will work and can jump right into the expansion.
Yeah then they likely dont want that technology to be playable in a old game first. Though it would be cool if they gave poeple a incentive to play through the whole series again before 4

Pretty sure nvidia predicted this immense whining that would happen (they already saw it when they first released screens of it, whiny idiots doing hate campaigns), so the ""leak"" was likely intended.
